Coincidentally, all domestic early bids if the rumors are correct.

I believe you are right on the money here. I get it that both of those guys are getting some much needed support from their country members and if one is doing it then the other should as well. But still there must be something wrong with this. Is this really how B3 is gonna be won from now on?

It's a game - can you top this now...
Really interesting to see this...but game ratings and the game itself will be even more interesting...too bad they won't hit 3M salaries mark each...:D

We really are at Wall Street types level of grotesque: players that have not been paid a single week of salary are being used to get early bids and finance more players that will not be paid a single week of salary.

GP Morgue vs. Goldman Sachs last round.
And it's all in!
BB Ben B. says: "I'd like to print some $$$, but it doesn't look well anymore, especially for GMs!"
This game should and will make history. Hopefully it'll be an end of a small era in a small world of BB.

3) register players for B3 at the start of the season and don't allow to play bought player after that

This seems like a sensible solution and along the lines of things we've done here in the past.

The reason we haven't done anything like this yet is that while for the past few seasons it has appeared that this might be a problem, it has turned out not to be; teams have tried essentially renting superstars but haven't been able to win the tournament that way.

Like with other debates we've had that would take us off-topic in this thread, as a game designer I'm happy with things that look like loopholes and encourage teams to spend resources but don't actually work very well. I wouldn't want to remove such things from the game.

If this does turn out to be a dominant strategy, we'd likely do something like 3), except that we might include the opportunity to update the roster partway through the tournament (think UEFA Champions League).

UEFA Champions League dont allow a player to play in the same season on 2 different teams in competition, you cannot register him.

Anyway, this B3 final lost my interest when i saw both teams signing expensive players, this is just awfull for the game, it just seems a race between the 2 finalists about who can expend more money. Anyway, i dont think they are afraid since im sure they have both great incomes and this kind of moves wont have any consequence for their clubs. One top spanish manager said it the other day on a forum, top teams have expensive rosters, but also have higher incomes and this ends like a wheel that make imbalances.

Now that you mentioned UEFA, i dont know if you know about football(soccer), but I'm from Barcelona and we really appreciate that our best players trained lot of years in our youngest teams like Messi, Xavi, Iniesta etc, but in B3 its really difficult to find players that have trained on their team during several seasons or rookies, its hard to find teams that were build ''from the training and not from the money''.

Or there might be a salary cap for the team lineup which would be the same for everyone. So if it would be 1M and you bought a 500k center, you have just 500k at disposal for everyone else. That sounds to me more like a multiskill issue than like a NT monster event thing.

I dislike this idea
Everyone had to have the team that he is able to afford

Why?

you can choose to spend all your money on your starting five,or distribute them on more players(8-10-12).You have to allow every team to pursue its strategy

Did he say he meant a hard cap?

why not implement a single rule which will end all the nonsense..?

a player can not be sold in eight weeks time from the date he was bought..

there are some good suggestions out there but they can only be cure for B3..
we are facing the "divine trick" all the time in our leagues and domestic tournaments..
our aim should be eliminating the source of this trick; "divine players"..

In this case, even one week would do the trick.
