Give me your best, Nanook!

are you referring to the wife-sharing business Nanook extends to visitors?

How does one run a business by sharing?

What's At Stake Tomorrow Night

Big 8

The Whalers have HCA throughout the playoffs wrapped up and have a date in the Cup finals so they will likely rest their starters against Delta 9, a meaningless game for both teams as far as playoff position in concerned.

The High Point Heroes also find themselves locked in their playoff position, but their opponent the Barbarian Marauders could slide in the to 5th place with a win and a loss by the Buckeyes. At the very least, a Marauders win guarantees them 6th place and HCA in a relegation series against the Kentucky Wildcats.

Barring a loss to Hoosier, the Traptors are locked into 4th place.

The big match up is between the Buckeyes and EDH Wolves. A Buckeye win gets them at least 4th place; a loss could drop them all the way to 7th. The Wolves are in a tricky position. A win slides them into 6th place; a win and a Marauders loss puts them in 5th. A loss earns them a tough relegation series with In Your Face. The Buckeyes almost certainly crunch time this game and EDH could do the same. A lot of strategy going into this game.

Great 8

Yawn. Things are pretty much set on this side of the league. Hassan has the conference title wrapped up and could choose to avoid injuries in his game against the 3rd place Cross Chargers.

TKI is playing to lock up 2nd place against an IYF squad locked into 6th.

The Cross Chargers will be trying to complete a 2nd half conference sweep. The Chargers have rattled of 7 straight wins after entering league play a lackluster 5-9. A win coupled with a TKI loss nets them 2nd place.

The Cacti currently occupy the final playoff spot and can only fall to 5th with a loss to the Warriors coupled with a Beware of Dogs win over the Wildcats. Beware of Dogs have the Cup final to think about and can do no worse than 5th place. They could potentially rest their starters tonight, given that a playoff spot is unlikely even with a win and they may want to avoid injuries leading up to the Cup finale.

Would it be in bad taste to offer you an mTIE?

No, it would be awesome!

I might as well prepare for being the 7th seed facing off against In Your Face as my road record is not very good. I fully expect EDH to put a hurt on me tomorrow night. I won the early season match-up at home by just 10 and I put more effort into the game. I expect another 20-30 blow out. In Your Face will most likely return the favor as they are back at full strength heading into the relegation games. I see Division 2 in my future, good luck to everyone and may no major injuries take place to end the season.

before the fireworks start, we should take a moment and appreciate what Ozone has accomplished:
-- made the finals in his first season in the NBBA
-- won the League championship in his second season in the NBBA
-- has an excellent chance to win both the League championship and the Cup in his third season

that is impressive.

and so i hope his team's airplane crashes into the Rocky mountains, killing all on board.

Impossible. Among Ernest Choi's many phobias is a crippling fear of flying, so as a show of solidarity, the entire team travels with him by train. It posed a bit of a problem for us in some of our B3 matchups, but it's all worth it for Choi Boy.

i'm going to combine two of my common messages -- a tip o' the hat to a good manager and my seasonal complaint about the mysterious benefits of winning in the playoffs -- with a shout-out to TnT.

i don't think anyone starts the season aiming for fifth, but i do get the feeling in the recent couple of weeks TnT decided to go for the Cup and fifth. As a strategy for gathering cash, he has played his cards well:
-- closed the season's last week with two home games -- $1 million+ in revenues
-- can win $350,000 for the Cup
-- by finishing fifth, saves 1.5 times his team salary of $669,000, which is another million.

that last figure is the key one: $1 million for fifth place.

for the playoff teams, the following scenario:
-- lose a game: $280,000+ for the gate, save a week's salary ($700,000)
-- win then lose conference championship: $560,000+ for the gate, plus save the week's salary
-- for Tucumcari and someone else, first week of playoffs is normal profit -- for most teams, under $100,000. second week, $100,000 for weekly profit (no break on salary), $400,000 for winniing, $200,000 for losing. Bottom line: NBBA champ gets maybe $600,000, runner-up, maybe $400,000. the boost in gate revenues the following season is dribbled out each game, which is not the same as cash-in-hand.

i figure the fifth-place team and the three playoff teams get $1 million or more, the NBBA champ perhaps 60% of that, and the second-place team less than half. that silver trophy is pretty expensive.

Faisal Balili, currently for sale, with respectable shape was 2 in 4 against my Cs with strong GS and prodigious+ inside D. Snap him up!
I rarely watch games live as it only frustrates me, but I caught glimpses of the last one. Ridiculous as ever. My favorite still is the willingless of defenders to touch the ball going out of bounds after a missed shot.
Getting too repetetive..

I just slashed prices on him too! Crazy Hoosiers player emporium is open for business. Wife sharing wasn't proving to be very profitable so I have moved on to human trafficking.

I'm glad I was fair to Ohio St and stole two wins this week.

Giving me too much credit, Hassan. Was 100% focusing on CUP since I figure my best bet is on neutral court but definitely was not aiming for 5th. I'm not complaining about landing there though.

Best of luck to everyone fighting relegation & PO.

To be fair to TnT, a big reason I was able to pass him is because you punted your last game to me. Even if I'd beaten you by single digits, he would have ended up above me in PD. You obviously had to punt one to maintain GS and play in the Cup and punting the road game usually makes sense so I'm not saying I think you made the wrong play, just that it wasn't all TnT allowing me to pass him.

I think it will work out for everyone because you'll probably beat me by 30 on Tuesday!
