What I try to figure out is what to do with one of my young guards. He got off to a nice start, but his performance (particularly his shooting percentage) dropped significantly since then. In league games his numbers are most distressing with only 9/64 FGs, or 0.141.
For his 2 pointers he got 0.167, which is not good at all.

His ratings in the matches are actually ok, his relevant skills:

JS: 7, JR: 7
DR: 4, IS: 2

I figure it is a problem with his covert skills, but maybe he just lacks too much Inside Shot skill. For the most part I play without focus, often Patient.

Can anyone help me nail this problem?

Cheers, Exos

You might want to try motion offense. Ratings like that is good for mid-range attack(motion). Then again, it could be who your guards are playing against.

His performance will also depend on game shape, how good his defender is, and (i'm not sure about these last two) enthusiasm/effort. And as always, some bit of randomness.

Also, I have this player with strog-proficient GS, 9 JS, 7 JR, 4 IS, and 4 DR but his game is inconsistent. I noticed that when I play him at SF he puts up better numbers than playing SG. And he even plays better or comes up with clutch shots when coming off the bench. So there you go. Just experiment on his position.

Thanks for the input guys. Maybe I just need to be more patient with this young guy. He improved in the last game and got 6 out of 16.

There was a guard on TL this week with lagendary driving. By scanning his stats and percentages it doesn't look he is very effective. So although it helps dont count on driving to be a saviour skill itself.

do you think that a good C or PF don't need a good driving skill?

Inside Scoring is very important for SG's. My SG has Proficent IS and only mediocre Driving and he gets like 4 dunks a game..(4547668) He does have Prolific JS but more times than not, he dunks it. The reason why I think IS is so important for SG's is that most managers don't think ID is important. That is my 2 cents worth...peace

It is all relative. You don't need your SG to have great ID if your team rating for ID is already high.

Then, watch carefuly your M2M defense. You never know when your rival's SG might have IS.

That probably more depends on your offensive tactic than anything else I guess. Did you play with inside/neutral focus often?

That's realtive. If so than you are limited to only some defesnive tactics to some extent.
