I'm not going to argue on how the players are payed in the english D.IV, I trust you on that point even if its not that simple.

I'm ok on the point that D.IV is low. My goal is to go to D.III but in the actual conditions my team is absolutely not ready for D.III and doesn't have the economical possibility to be ready. This subject has already been discussed several times but I think the champion of a division who is pronoted should receive some money to help him being competitive the next season.
The other point is that being promote is really hard because there is only 1 team ou of 16 that is going to be promote, and every year you have to wait to be promote the gap is increasing between your team and the one in D.III....unlike in the real world.

They do, in the form of increased Arena and merchandise revenues.

I agree with both of your commentaries about the increasing marchandising and number of supporters but this takes time before you economy really feel the difference because it's only week after week that it will pay (if you had enough money in the past to increase the size of your arena...). That's why a bonus for the champion team looked like a good idea to me...but the rules are the rules and we will have to deal with them...

Merchandise revenue in III isn't exactly the financial windfall you and Juice are making it out to be. I've 616 season ticket holders, and the most I've ever seen in merch is still less than $15k in a week. This is despite a 16-5 record (including a 12-game winnning streak) and clinching a playoff berth. I'm not at all attempting to validate the OP's complaints, in fact, it's quite the opposite. I believe that this game is above all a management simulator, and all GMs in basketball must find a way to make the best of what they have.

I pay just over 60k/week in salaries to players, and slightly under 37k/wk to staff. With likely similar staff, I'll estimate my wages next season to be around 66-68k/wk. And barring a playoff miracle, I'll probably still be in division III.

What's kept me comfortably afloat is TV revenue, training sales, and smart arena management (though I've made some recent errors in ticket prices; but I've learned quite a bit from those mistakes).

I feel your pain. But be patient; and work with what you have. Personally, I always look a couple of seasons ahead of the current one. My goals for next season are to have a much longer cup run and to improve my guards and SF, make another run at the finals, and hopefully promote. If that doesn't happen, I'll try it again in season 5.

My merch revenue is likely double his because I have an extra half-season of playing BB, and with that, better than double the amount season ticket holders.

But you are right, and the 212k (I think?) for a TV game is much sweeter than the 160k in div IV. As far as attendance, however, when I was selling out my arena (before I screwed up on ticket prices), I was only making $12k in profit after paying salaries and scouting costs. This is likely what led me to increase ticket prices in the first place.

The best help I can give the OP in the short term is to expand his courtside seats by about half of what he can afford to expand. And perhaps lower the price of bleachers by $1 or $2 next month.

The team salary is not a problem but this should be related to the division of the team; in Vth division there are teams with 80k team salary and of course in this case it's hard to keep the balance...

I'm quite certain of that amount. I don't think it's too much, as I tend to rely on it to make ends meet ;)

The teams in V with 80k in wages have likely bought players they can't afford to keep. And I'll bet anyone a hot dog that any team in V with 80k in wages is a daytrader.
