What is "driving" skill for, and which tactic takes advantage of this?

Driving represents the ability of the player to create his on shots, without the need of a pass from a teammate.

ps: check out the Rules page, there is a lot of useful information for you there (including this answer) :D

Thanks for the response. I just re-read the rules. I even found a typo ("you" instead of "your") after "Enthusiasm" on the tactics page. ;-)

I'm looking for official or unofficial feedback on "Driving". I don't know which tactic(s) take advantage of the driving skill. Some of the other tactics more obviously correspond to player skills. For example, inside shot should be useful for "Look inside" and "Low Post", which have an "inside focus". Jump shot and jump range are useful for "Motion", which the rules say has an "outside/mid range jump shot focus".

Perhaps driving is good when the offense is "Patient", because players need to wait and then create their own shot with the shot clock winding down? Is driving useful for "Push The Ball" because players will be looking to fast break to the rim?

These are good assumptions, but I really don't know.

But if I had to guess I would think driving has no direct relation to the tactics, is more of an option of creating oportunities to score in any case (while for example passing would be another one).

In that other game where the ball is kicked around a lot it was important to get a decent coach to start off with or else all training was essentially futile. Is that the same case here? It's difficult to be able to gauge what you can afford without really knowing how much money you're going to have coming in.

That being said, I've sorted out my team, put some losers up for nothing and I have the option to get a level 5 trainer for around 10k/week. I've also set my starting training to stamina because overall my stamina is darn awful and I'm certain that it contributed to my second half collapse in my first league match. I'm holding off on looking for trainees until after the draft and whatnot. Should arena expansion be a high priority?

I'm a noob. What do we spend our $ on at the start. Figure its about upgrading the roster. When do we upgrade our stadium?

Well my advice would be save your money for now and wait to see if you can win with your current team in season 3.

If you can win then buy more seats in your arena.
If you can't then try finding some players on the transfer market that will make your team that little bit better.
