I don't think this new training system would be a bad idea to implement if this happened once every season :P

Yes, I could also see this system working for once a season. Using an NBA analogy, it could represent that dedicated player (e.g. Kobe) who trains hard during the off-season instead of taking it easy (e.g. Shaq).
