Well, if you want to win now why did you buy a bunch of miserable 18 y.o. players? The recipe is very clear, it's even in the game manual. Train a couple of positions, buy veterans for the other ones. You can easily find 28+ y.o. players on the TL w/ over 10k salaries that will immediately help your team. On the other hand, have a few (3 or less for 1 position, preferrably 5 for 2 position) trainees to train and improve

Win now?

I can't stop laughing.

You look more like sending yourself to your doom..... With the amount you pay for your trainer for 1 month, you can get much better 18 year olds than the ones you have now (who will take nearly a season of full training to be as good). Why are torturing yourself paying that a trainer that much to train crappy players.

OR

With the same amount you pay for your trainer for 1 month, instead of buying trainees, you can also afford to buy a whole roster of players abit older but maaaaaany times better who can get you to DIV faster than what you're doing now.

That's just not true. A better trainer will only give you a couple of extra pops per season, and by training a whole bunch of guys you make training unbelievably slow. Take a look at the training speed threads

Mistake#1
Thinking that training is possilbe at your level in the game. This is not really your fault. One would hope this game is set to reward you for training your own players...that really only happens in small nations where they have the finances or established teams taht bought pre created players at around 22. Its just the way they set this game up.

This game has rewarded me for training my own players. I think your comment is ridiculous. It seems to me the most efficient and cost-effective way to improve your team in lower divisions is through training. We all realize you're frustrated with your personal training results; no reason to take that frustration out on the newbies.

I have climbed from div IV to div II and have always had key players in my promotion team whom I've trained. Not suggesting that one should train the whole team, but like you say above, training and selling trainees does bring you a lot of cash...

What's wrong is div IV and V managers getting overpaid trainers because they think their 18 y.o. 2.5k salary trainee will make it to the national team! But everyone in lower divisions should train players, especially since it takes very little time for a player to start contributing at that level.
