Thanks guys.

I was getting a bit confused with Gameshape, (but at least I understand now). I thought that you needed to get as close to 48 minutes as possible but by going over by the least possible. Instead now I know that there is a window of 48-72 mins which I need to hit. That makes much more sense.

Yeah Quite is the priority at the moment and I am really just making a bit of a hash of the others I think. There does seem to be improvement within the team though so maybe I am somehow blundering in the right direction. Just had a decent little win against a team with 6 players with a higher wage than my highest wage, (so quite chuffed).

Gameshape does seem to be a factor in that recent win, (but also Enthusiasm which is still a bit of a grey area).

Slowly but surely getting there I think.

You are definitely going in the right direction. Id aim for 60-72 minutes, but 48 is fine as a minimum.
Perhaps when you finish this seasonthink about setting some goals for your team. Perhaps a financial goal, an arena goal , league position, cup round, buying a certain wage player at a certain position. You can balance them up and se if they make sense. Then go for it :) before you know it you ll be winning more, making more money and will be in the EBL! Ok well one step at a time...

Yeah thanks Fluff.

I have already set myself a few targets for this season, (quite a few actually), and I have hit some already.

I have a new question now I'm afraid though.

This week I should be training in OD but I'm not sure what area covers this and I can't find it in the help guide, (but am still looking). I am guessing it is either shot blocking or pressure maybe. Can anyone shed some light on this before next week.

Thanks in advance.

[Edit]

Cancel that. Just found it and it's pressure. Ok. Something else learned then.

Hi guys. Sorry to bug you but I have another couple of questions.

This week is All Star week so there are obviously only 2 games rather than the normal 3.

I know that this impacts on training and I plan on swapping to either Free Throws or Stamina for this week only. Is that sensible?

The other thing is Gameshape. How does only 2 games impact upon that and if Quite plays in the All Star game, (he did last year), then will that be counted towards his game time? At the moment my gameshape is much improved with only 1 problem player and he is a recent signing. I am planning to just rotate all starters to Backups and then the Reserves will just have to deal with it. Any other suggestions?

Lastly, how does the voting for the All Star results work? At the moment the PG voting is as follows.

Great 8
Point Guard
Player Votes
Ken McMillan 45191
Átila Godinho 21579
Julián Bustos 10377
Andy Guite 3362

I normally train stamina or FT this week, but if you are in the early ages of training player i have say go for the one position training which will allow you to still keep your gs for your starters and take advantage of the quicker speed factor for a rookie, i dont think the all star game counts in terms of gs minutes, U21 games dont count towards GS.

The top two players make the team, in this case Mcmillan and Godinho.

team training is a common choice in allstar weeks for teams that are not still in the cup.
In addition you could one position train your top two trainees (one in each game), or two position your three trainees and any other one that is fairly young (you might get lucky!)
For example this week i am one position training at PG. I will either train pressure or passing 2 of my 3 trainees.
I was considering doing 2 position passing (PG/SG) becaus you still get good improvement at passing in 2 position and that would do 4 of my guys.

As far as GS is concerned i think we all just have to manage as best we can.

A good solution would be to try to keep your starter players GS up (so play them 55-70 mins) and then as many of your other players at 48 or slightly above. Obviously across two games you are very restricted in the minutes you can distribute, but i guess the GS of your starters is more important than backups because they spend more time on court in league games.

the allstar game call ups can be a bit of a joke sometimes, but generally speaking the best players get called up.
Always an exciting game to watch as theres an infomral agreement between the coaches before the game starts that noone will play any defence!!

allstar game minutes do not count towards GS or training or anything - its just a bit of fun.

Thanks Adz & Fluff.

My training is a bit complicated at the moment, (some would say it's a shambles), but I think I will benefit most from team training so thanks anyway for the advice.

As for gameshape, ok. At least I know what to expect so will have to make a decision before game 2.

One last question, (and this is a bit embarrassing), but how do I physically get to watch the All Star game. There is no link to click on on my own fixtures and if I go to league and All Star Week then there doesn't seem to be a link there either, or will that page actually become the game page?

Sorry if I have missed something obvious. lol

I'm fairly confident the 'view live' link is available on this page after 7pm tomorrow evening.

http://www.buzzerbeater.com/league/981/allstar/overview.aspx

I might be wrong it might just appear in the top right corner, but im sure it's available on the above link.

In terms of your training, you can only really learn by practice, for example i've never trained pg/sg for passing before and on fluff's advice above i'm gonna try this week.

I messed up this week, indirectly because i made the OF of the cup which of course is great, but the unexpected 3rd game this week means i either throw my starting lineup gs completely out of the window or play my backups and maintain a good team rotation in terms of gs (9 of 11 are currently at least strong) for the week ahead!

yep if you win the cup round before allstar week then you get an extra game compared to everyone else who is knocked out, so you can in theory train an extra player or two, potentially build enthusiasm and manage GS better
