Today I got another reason against the "confirm" button - I went into a bidding war via my mobile phone (not via WLAN, but via mobile connection).

Every Pageload took a while, and when another confirmation page would pop up it would be virtually impossible to use mobile phones for bidding. A big downer nowadays.

you got me wrong.. i dont want a button in a bid war.. in a bid war you usually bid the next few k $ so you dont get in trouble

i mean only for the first bid ever placed on a player. thats where you can get in trouble mixing up 0000000 with 00000000 or something.. as soon as there is a bid on a player there is no need for confirmation except for the restriction of not being able to bid more than 10x..

I'm quite a noob compared to you guys, so do not get me wrong if i seem insolent.
When i look for a guy on the TL (it doesn't happen that often :P) i get a first glance at the whole market, then I type a max current bid in the TL browser preferences to keep only the guys i can afford / place bid on. There is no chance to get an overpriced first bid that way ...

Yes i agree with this part, and extend by saying:
'Confirm the bid if the user manually enter's the bid amount'.

If the bidding amount has been auto-populated by the BB-system, then no confirmation required.

So a confirm notice on the first bid (regardless of whether its been typed in or not) and all-subsequent manually typed in bids.

I think this is a very good idea, I once made that mistake (in another game) and it crushed me.

I also don't think a disable button for this feature is a must- and even without it this suggesion is still a good one, remember that in a bidding war it doesn't matter who makes the bid as long as the price goes up, so even if you can't manage to place your own bid just wait for a while or try again until most of the managers give up, you are not going to run out of time...

not sure if you noticed this - but a 'confirmation' feature has been added. Im not sure of the details, i just tried to bid on a player for the first time, using an auto-populated amount, and it asked me to confirm.

in other words - this suggestion has actually been implimented!

It was a great suggestion and I am amazed to see that it has been implimented so quickly. Back to daytrading for you to make your next $150,000,000 (minus taxes).

it wasnt really day trading that made my sales go to 150mio.. back in seasons 5-10 it was easy to make money with training players for some months. nowadays you you buy the finest rookies for 1-3mio train them for seasons and in the end sell him for less

alot of players had to go after days or weeks though thats right.. i was bored at times ;)

its good for the game that day trading isnt so easy anymore but then you should also make training more lucrative.. now its like there are so many players and people dont even want to buy expensive rookies because they know they cant train them further than to a salary at like 200k cause about that is the most people wanna spend on a single salary.
i think the top teams should be able to afford the best players. maybe not 5 of them but it should not be like the beasts out there sell for a few hundred thousands. it can ruin beginners or low level clubs and it will also make new managers think "huh whats that? that beast is just 200k.. why is that average player 5x the price? oh well ill just buy the beasts and see how this game turns out to bet.. if ill go bankcrupt ill just go and find some other browsergame"

there are only 34.000 managers left.. some seasons ago it were like 20.000 more. a lot of their players are still in the game and will be for several more seasons..as long as you dont get rich by training young players you should get more from the fans or tv because i think it sucks that great players dont sell on a valuable price or only get sold when it comes to seasons end. maybe there is greater good thats followed after but at the moment the game is less attractive to me than it was or could be.. still loving the game!
