That's really good to know, didn't read anything about the increase in season tickets being dependant on the way you promote. You're right, that is a strong incentive and it's clear to me now that I need to win the palyoffs regardless of the unbeaten record (fingers crossed). Don't want to drop back down to league V right after I promote and that will most likely take pumping some serious money into the team and the infrastructure.

I've had a feeling from the very start that this game is mostly about being good with finance if you're looking at playing long-term :)

Only 10? Shoot, I assumed there'd be more... Gonna do my best to win the playoffs anyway in order to get a higher number of season tickets sold. Advancing through the BOT cleanup is going to remain as plan B. Anyway, thanks a lot for the info.

Going back to my initial questions in this thread and the game against a team that just went BOT on Monday. Turned out to be a smooth win with my team taking the lead very early on and increasing it as time went by. Two observations:

1. The BOT's tactics DID change to Base Offense / Man to Man as predicted.

2. The BOT's roster DID NOT change exactly as predicted. The assumption was that the player with the highest salary will be placed at PG, next highest salary at SG, etc. Here's how it worked in this case:

PG - nominal SF placed here (USD 5,132)
SG - nominal C placed here (USD 4,263)
SF - nominal SF placed here (USD 10,444)
PF - nominal C placed here (USD 22,522)
C - nominal PF placed here (USD 10,785)

To make it more weird, these are not the 5 players with top salaries in the team roster. There are other uninjured players with salaries of, e.g. USD 7,709 or 6,599 who started on the bench.

Some players of that team may have went to the Free Agent Market, altough with the increased needed salary to go the FA market and the fact that a D5 team, few or none players may have left to it. New players will be created only and if that team is replaced by a new human manager.

I can confirm that no players left the team in the last few weeks. The roster stayed exactly the same, it's just the lineup that changed.

The team is: NY KNICKS NY (55442)

Starters before the team turned into a BOT:
PG - Acero (nominal PG, USD 7,709)
SG - Virgil (nominal SF, USD 10,444)
SF - Niemczuk (nominal SF, USD 5132)
PF - Macijevskis (nominal PF, USD 10,785)
C - Priolo (nominal C, USD 22,522)

Starters after the team turned into a BOT:
PG - Niemczuk (nominal SF, USD 5,132)
SG - Murdza (nominal C, USD 4,263)
SF - Virgil (nominal SF, USD 10,444)
PF - Priolo (nominal C, USD 22,522)
C - Macijevskis (nominal PF, USD 10,785)

I can't find an easy explanation for the way the lineup was reset. Perhaps it's just random at this point... And I guess it's not a big deal, it's just that darn curiosity that's difficult to handle sometimes ;)

OK, so here's a follow-up question regarding the BOT cleanup. Do you know which criteria and in what order decide which teams promote as part of the cleanup? (Let's forget about the teams which advance as playoff winners)

I would assume that the first thing would be the overall win-lose record, so teams with 22-0 final record would be considered first, ahead of teams with a 21-1 record, etc.

So assuming we're only looking at teams with a perfect 22-0 record... What comes next? The point differential? The country rank?
