If my memory is correct, I remember there was a hint that they are working on the passing issue. so this not totally unannounced.
I agree I think there was a hint, that at some point in the future, there might possibly maybe be a change. That's hardly a warning of a change.
Again we see stuff sprung on us out of the blue. At the risk of repeating myself (omg I'm becoming Wolph) these things should come with at least half a season's warning, preferably a whole season. Whether its good or bad.
