just do your best lah.. nothing to lose down there.

if promoted, good for you. more revenue. and we got more rivals here which make game interesting.

if not promoted.... nah you can concentrate more on Cup games... and B3 !!..

If you come up to SBBL next season, it'll make things even tougher than it is now. Any mistake and you'll find yourself in the relegation battle.

Agree, but it's a must to get promote up this season. B3 is a extra tough match which I need to strengthen my team to challenge team in there.

Season 16 - Who's hot... Who's not....

Skyrocketing :

Sessioes Doers (Rank 3)
Established their presence as a contender again for second straight season. The Singapore's third best team is no joke. SD's lineups are young and deep of reserve players that are always hungry to play. Still led by Ricardo Paz (23ppg) and Phil "Bill Laimberr" Hanson (17ppg 12rpg). Balkhausen is still solid at the middle (12ppg 11rpg 3bpg). The only setback of this team is they will need more veteran presence to finish out games, as per their defeat from SLZH from the Final Tournament this season, and the meltdown on last season playoff vs Shohoku Backers.

Singapore Showstoppers (Rank 6)
You are right. SS is now sitting at Big 8 first spot. The presence of Noel Lima (14ppg 11rpg) has toughen up their inside presence, and it result only two defeat so far. Edmundo Cabral led the team in scoring with 17ppg, Followed by Pedro Pineda 16ppg, 13rpg, 3.7apg & 1.7bpg. The real test will come when they finish their Great 8 trip, back to the schedule of Big 8 teams to face Shohoku Backers, Whampoa Allstars, revamped Eric United and stronger Lycans BB.

SLZH (Rank 10)
Nobody would care about SLZH at beginning of season, but the whole Singapore BB were shocked as SLZH ousted the top 5 SBBL team at tournament, for their way for their 1st ever championship. Led by Italian Don Steri (31ppg) and Hungarian's Bela Gorboi (21ppg), these troops are unstoppable offensively. And they also have a steady floor general in Eldegez Abilov (15ppg 5ast), who work at best with Leandro Perrone (14ppg 12rpg) on pick and roll. Romeo Laigre (12ppg 9rpg), the Tournament Final MVP, is a tough nose defender. It will be interesting to see how SLZH will fight their way to SBBL again, as they have to leap over the Slinger team and SingSing from their Division.

Still Adjusting :

Shwe Toe Ngal (Rank 12)
Andrea Nappa were hypening up SBBL, before STN finally have to release him due to lack of depth of team. Although now they have strong offensive production from Jakub Ejankowski (18ppg 15rpg), and Celso Valente (25.3ppg), the team is on the learning curve on defensive ends. Luckily, with Crystal Cavaliers regressing, STN able to sit on 4th spot on Great 8.

ESPLANADE BASKETBALL CLUB (Rank 13)
Similar to STN, The EBC are still trying to adjust to SBBL. Done a good job to beat some team like CCC and STN. Primo Mosberger (17.7 ppg 8.8rpg) is their best player. Wingman Enrique Santorum (19.1 ppg, 6rpg) and Juan Allister (13.4ppg) are their Ace cards when the tight game is on.

Bobbleheads (Rank 14)
A team consists of mostly young guns, led by veteran Bill Swain (26.7ppg) and Oben Erzan (22ppg). But their young bigman George Harman (6ppg 9rpg) and Khalifa Diouk (7ppg 6rpg) are struggling to hold on with SBBL's centers. And Bobblehead haven't yet played well defensively against the other team, which could lead them to relegation battle.

Far from Expectation :

Singapore Ballers (Rank 33)
Selling out Soh Qiang Leong to Lycans BB, and swapped bigman Patrice Caumont with Alvise Gargano (22.8ppg 20rpg) is not working well for them. The team is still not trying to make any effort on SBBL, as exposed on their liability on guard and wingman position. Expect them to slide down division II again.

Crystal Chambers Cavaliers (Rank 15)
Still similar with last season Achiles heels, defensive ends, although the team is a powerful Run & Gun team with NT member Yip Kum Jian (24.3ppg) and U21 Chan Teck Yao (12.7ppg 23mpg) coming off the bench.

Lycans BB (Rank 9)
Failed to ensure a healthy Fang Shuang Xiang (15ppg 12rpg), who was sidelined for first three weeks of Season 16, mightily costed the team to 0-5 start and out of tournament early. Although now they're racing back to 6-8, playoff will be hard for them to achieve, as the five team above Lycans are now with record at least 9-5. This season Lycans still improve themselves with addition of local heroes and ex-U21 in Soh Qiang Leong (9.1ppg 10rpg) and Yeo Teck Seng (16ppg).

Coming up : ... The SBBL Business As Usual...

SBBL - Our Business As Usual :

Fat Alexander (Rank 5)
Swapped Noel Giménez Guerra with Serbia U21 Adis Mehmedovic (8.5ppg 10.9rpg), and brought in Denmark veteran PG Zakhar Kutkin (15ppg 6.2apg 5.3rpg). The most notable is the SGP NT Yeo Tse Hui (27 ppg). He and Gian Montecucco (29 ppg) are at first and second rank on the SBBL points per game leader, proved that the dynamic duo now become the icons of Fat-A team. Sitting at Great 8 First spot, Fat-A is eyeing to the playoff again with a deeper vision.

Shohoku Backers (Rank 1)
The same old Backers, with only addition of Sebastian Darras (15.7ppg) at the expense of Eldad Galam. Although still hanging steadily on 4th place on the crowded strong teams in Big 8, the Backers actually were on a step back. The shocking defeat to SLZH on semifinal tournament weren't expected at all, denied SHB for aiming Tournament Cup after they eliminated 3 time Champs Whampoa All-Stars. Cataldo Momente led the team with 16.6ppg although coming off the bench, followed by Aniol Soler 16.5ppg and 6apg. Sertug Acay (14.8ppg 12.8rpg) and Jason Peachey (13.7ppg 10rpg) still the paint guardians. And the Agisilaos "Chief" Kostis (13.8ppg) still as soundly as last season. Although SHB will look for back-to-back League Champion, but the road to playoff now doesn't look that easy, with five teams fighting for 4 playoff spots.

Eric United (Rank 8)
Eric Utd finally pulled the trigger to reshuffle, shipped out their long tenures Milan Vukic and Alfredo Montecucco. They brought in Estonian Rainer Mand (14.4ppg 5.4apg), German Sven Gruner (13.8ppg 6.8rpg), and the best acquisition was Cedomir Gušic (19.0ppg 12.3). Gusic was brought in to excel with those bigmans on Big 8 division, which are making the competition for playoff are more tougher than before. Relying now on their new bigman, Eric Utd again will try to gain back their glory old days, the SBBL Dominator.

Pekanbaru Jaguars (Rank 4)
Released Thiseas Chantampakis and Sorin Niculae as part of their Playoff Final dissapointment, looking to another attempt with veteran Tommy Kupila (19.8ppg 5.2apg), Zhong XuanWen (18.0ppg) and Singaporean Lim Eng Ze (5.6ppg 8.0rpg). Although without their injured leader Petrus Alexandersson (18ppg 16rpg) on past few weeks, the Jaguars still present the stingy defense. The only obstacle for Jaguars is their longtime Rival, Fat-A.

...continued...

Whampoa Allstars (Rank 2)
Still with their last year Tournament Champions core players. Omri Arnon (19.9ppg 5.1rpg), Arthur Hottinger (16.2ppg), Ng Chao Huat (16ppg 7.2apg) and Falko Rogali (9.1ppg 4.9apg off the bench) are just can't be separated. Their new addition Polski Konrad Krassowski (22.0 ppg), are just the similar type with Omri Arnon & Hottinger, which showcased the Whampoa as a good purchaser of basketball talents. And they even only have Fransiskus Detjen (12.0ppg 12.8rpg) as their inside presence. With their underrated bigman, Whampoa are still able to excel with those opponent like Sessioes Doers, Shohoku Backers, Singapore Showstoppers, and even still own winning edge from them. But as we saw the latest result, things don't go well with Whampoa as they have gone 0-4 since the Allstar Weekend, dropped the game against the mediocre STN and Chai Chee team. Will they able to stop the slide? The actually-redhot Lycans BB , 8-2 after 7 losing streak, is awaiting to swap their position out.

Cheesecake (Rank 7)
They are like they were last year before the injury of their important blue-collar man, Felipe Massana (9.5 ppg 16.1rpg), cost cheesecake three straight losses with big margin. Cheesecake big defensive plays success since last season were contributed heavily by Massana and Rafael Vasquez, with their offense relying on those long gunner Tan Kim Wai (16ppg off the bench), Justin Liepins (21.3ppg), Vincent Katic (21.8ppg) and Victor Sramek(16.7ppg 3.7apg 4.4rpg). This season, cheesecake hasn't yet to make purchase on any players. Combined with their faded W-L records, it looks like they were not planning to climb high on the playoff on this season.
