OK, today is our final game of the WC, where we play against Slovakia, one of the world's strongest team. They maybe don't have a plenty of trophies at their main page but they are always at the very top of the rankings.
I don''t think that I have a lot to write, the games against Czechs and Slovakians aren't our chances at all - especially with this low enthusiasm. We played against Slovakia before the WC and we lost by 15 points - not too much.
I will write something about our journey through the WC.
When I found out the names of our rivals, I thought that we could win one game and equalize our best result here. Our schedule was excellent and this is what I saw as our chance. Teams like Spain and Poland were impossible to beat but I had hope against Uruguay, Hong Kong and Iran.
The game against Uruguay is one of the most important victories as a manager of Misr. This is especially because I played TIE, hoping to win in the next two games. My colleague from Uruguay played Normal but failed to win in overtime. I was really amazed to see that lots of things can be achieved with good enthusiasm, excellent game shapes and fine distribution of skills. I started to think that we could achieve a phenomenal success and enter the 2nd round.
Our enthusiasm was huge before the game against Hong Kong, which was also very important to win. Unfortunately, we didn't have much luck and lost by 6 points. It was very important to motivate the players to keep struggling and to beat Iran by more than 10 points. We played CT, won by 13 and achieved the highest success in Egyptian history.
We passed to the second round leaving much stronger teams, Iran and Uruguay, behind.
Our next rival was China, an amazing team which is hoping to win the WC title, something which they never did before.
I tried to experiment a bit and we lost by 35 points. I realized that our next match could be very important.
Canada was the least strong team coming from the other group in this phase so I thought that we could win that game, too. I played CT, players played the best match of their careers and the victory was there! This team kept playing tremendously and Canadians were unable to handle that. This victory put as among the Top 10 teams in the world, which is something that has never happened before for this country.
The games against Slovakia and Czech aren't really that important. Our team is exhausted, has low enthusiasm and did better than anyone of us imagined before.
Now, some not really happy information.
Four players are retiring from the team and this is their last game. I am talking about Sulayman Yousef, Nasser Ismail, Abdullah Haj-Hamdan and Jibril Abu-Mansour. Nasser is injured and he played his last game against Czech Republic. Abdullah, Jibril and Sulayman will retire tonight and they will get the special award from Egyptian BB Federation before the game.
I'll start with scouting tonight and see who will be able to replace them. This team has excellent future and the replacements might even be better.
This is why I would like to continue managing this team in the next two seasons, too.
I hope that I have your support.
We are the best!Last edited by Tarikz at 2/18/2013 12:08:53 PM
