If you have selected at least 10 active players for a game, and you are winning by enough for the game engine to be in blowout mode, the starters will not play, period. It doesn't matter if B is your 2nd and 3rd choice as PG... because he's the starting SG he will not play in a winning blowout situation.

I'm not saying that's how it should be, but that's how it has always been, and I've never seen it mentioned that this will be changed.

I do think that the recent changes made by Forrest will make it more likely that B sees time at PG in a normal game situation, though.

The problem is that random players playing at some positions over reserves even if those reserves are listed only as reserves in depth chart.

I just read it again, and I think I got it the first time. Your PG depth looked like A-B-B. B also started at SG. Is that right?

If so, and if you're winning in a blowout, A and B will absolutely not come on to the floor... starters do not play in that situation, ever, unless there aren't enough subs to fill the spots, even if those subs aren't in the depth chart. So someone not in the depth chart had to play PG for you.

Whether that's worth calling a bug, I don't know.

Yes, it was my fault this time. But still sometimes rnadom players play at random positions where they shouldn't in 4 th quarter (blowouts). Even if there are non-starters listed. Sometimes it could cripple training in the process.

im saying the problem would still exist if you did strict depth chart.. because even in strict depth chart the coach considers the fitness/skill of the players some.. and the gap in skill between JD and TL is so large that the coach can't bear to put JD in over TL. We need to figure some other way to have the coach follow your orders.. we cant have him ignore skills because sometimes things happen that the DC can't account for... and he needs to make a tradeoff between players who are in the depth chart at multiple spots.. anyway...

(10349263) Orders: Strictly follow depth chart...

V.Katzarsky (Center) set as starter at SG position. T.Lindner as backup.

Result: V.K. played 33 min / T.L. played 15 min.

(10349266) Orders: Depth chart until 4th...

V.Katzarsky set as starter at SG and T.L. as backup.
The match starts with T.L. as starter...

Result: V.K. played 10 min at SG / T.L. played 38 min.

-------
If I understood well your working hypothesis, these two matches are telling that it was not right. When using "strictly follow...", my line-up was pretty well respected by the trainer in spite of the obvious better skills of T.L. When "Depth chart until 4th..." was set, the "bug" appears.

I hope it helps.

I think the same thing happens to me.

Today, in the friendly match (10655729), I choose my best player, Manolo Villa Fernández (2229641) a former small forward of the spanish NT, to start in the bench as a power forward, because he played 48 minutes in the last match.

To fill up a better training I take a not too much young PG, José Gurruchaga (3005901) (that I don't want to train this week) in the starting five as power forward.

Obviously, the first player is much better than the second one, so in spite of playing with "Depth chart until 4th...", my coach decided to start with Manolo.

Result: my best player is now injuried for two weeks.

Very unlucky but maybe it could be avoid if my own decission were more respected by the coach.

And maybe I'm mistaken but I though that the injuried players appeared in red in the summary during the match but the name of Manolo never changed to red. It's that correct?

In other cases I have suffered similar "unexpected changes" always playing with "Depth chart until 4th" so for me it's very clear that there is a bug around this substitution mode.

Hi,
2 games in a row, with wrong line-up.
1st time (11510137), maybe he forgot. I talk with him by msn.
2nd time (11510145), even i help him to make the line-up and stragedy. He reviewed it 3 times, and now he has the same line-up of the previous match.

I think there's a problem here.

Greetings

posted this in a new thread but it should be here instead so I'll repost it:

Apologies if this has been posted here already but I can't see it.

In my last game (10686155) the box reads that I payed crunch time. While I realize it is possible I made the mistake I am fairly positive I played TIE. Furthermore the results of the game do not look like the expected results of a game in which I CT'd but he TIE'd.

Considering the possibility that I made a mistake I would like to know if this is being reported by anyone else.

If not then I guess it must have been me, but I can't even remember my last CT during the regular season.

I can't figure out why my set starters didn't start today. I'm sure it happened today, and think it has happened for my other cup games. It's really messing with my players enthusiasm...and mine.
