Free agent market could be the answer. Weather to cut down the number of them making to market (who will decide which ones will be cropped?) or stopping them entirely would be the best idea. We all still remember what happened to the prices before they were introduced again in order to lower the prices. I am sure BB's are on top of this matter and we really can't say that stopping free agents will not raise those prices to idiotic heights again.
Have some faith in BB's, after all they have created a great game.

Free Agents. They lower the transfer prices by adding a big percentage of availbale players on the market, AND every time a free agent is bought, al the millions disappear out of the game instead of being spread forth and forth to new clubs via transfers etc. 2 major game affections.

I am doing somewhat of a tank this season, although not quite as far as Brian is suggesting. My take on this is: keep just enough of a team to finish 6th or 7th then pick up a player or two to win the relegation series, if necessary. Invest in scouting and hope for a good draft pick. Rinse and repeat for a couple of seasons, at least until you have three solid players to train.

I am still raking in $300K per week before cup income with my reduced salaries. And even though I plunked 6.2 million on an 18 year old (don't ask), I still have a bit of a cash reserve. The jury is still out on whether I will be able to stay up, but I have a 3-3 record so far, so my fingers are crossed.

I may be wrong but I think at least one team on the other side of the table is doing this, too. And I guess this strategy works better in a small country, where there is less competition.

Well maybe they think that young Trainees are just too expansive at the moment?
Paying 1-2 Millions on 18YO isn't a great decision if fully trained Players are worth 4 Millions ...

Stopping free agents from one week to the other wouldn't really help imo, it would only benefit players who didn't adapt to the changes and hurt players who did ... Imo players shouldn't be rewarded for thinking that the BBs would change it anyway if the prices go down too much so that they can sell their players for insane prices like before BBs reintroduced free agents ...

The effect is to change suddenly the market and the economy and even if it will be better for me I'm against "external" decision; the main problem is that following the statements of the BBs the economy should be auto-regulated but how it can be autoregulated if the economy is related to: users, costs and profits, where users is a variable impossible to predict and costs and profits are dediced by someone? (salary costs 3-5% lower, TV up to 20k/week and so on...)

I tend to think of Free Agents as part of the game's effort to take out money from the game that is introduced by income, tv contracts, etc. Of course money needs to be disappearing from the game, since money is being created within the game as well.

Slowing down the supply of free agents or stopping them entirely must be worth an effort or are the BB's happy with the monetary reward for training right now?

I don't think I would start by getting rid of free agents. Slowing them, yes. Dropping them, no.

As I said before, constant deflation and inflation are bad for the game. I think this "depression" is partly psychological, as most down-turns of this type are. But you can't sit with money in your account during an inflationary period. Therefore all the savers would splash the market, pushing prices higher and higher. Maybe we would end up in a worse situation than the last time BB experienced heavy inflation.

What is needed is to go to a period of slow inflation. Something to give the savers food for thought. Getting there might require some tuning of the free agent process or some growth in the game or a revamp of the salary system or some idea that I don't have the brain power to come up with.

Apart from that i dont know if we arrived to the worst moment of the transfer market, but its a fact that LOTS of managers lost huge amounts of money in their training value and now they see its not worth to keep paying the salary of their player or even selling them.

I dont know wether this is true or not, but I suppose yes. The problem of this game at this moment is that economy has taken really lot of importance, I would say that if you want to be a succeed manager the most important thing is to know about the economy of this game.

So i dont imagine how a manager that only want to dedicate 10 minutes doing the lineup etc can be interested on the game, when you see that you need to dedicate lot of time thinking about a good strategy on the economy-roster in a short-medium-long time. Its a fact that economy is becoming more complicated season after season(I dont whine about it, because im here since season 3, but others managers im sure they doesnt like this idea).

When this game is becoming more important to manage a team and not to be the coach* that can make lot of users keep leaving the game.

its a basketball management simulator not a basketball coach simulator.

to be clear i did not mean any offense to you, and i may have just misunderstood the part i quoted .
your one of the players i highly respect in this game , so i dont doubt that you understand the game , just to me it seems your upset that a management game is about managing something...... to me that seems well weird .
