Gee, I already pointed out something you said will never be found. Now you're saying I'm recommending 4th place teams to gut their salaries. And also saying that it's the case with everyone else.

You are so low.

I did not, in any way, imply such a thing.

What I said was there might be exceptions to this 5th being better than 4th. This is why I said we need to put things into another perspective: Teams that have a roster with a low salary heading into the playoffs. They can have that same team all season for what I care but they place better than 5th which helps them get better ratings in their survey rating, get more from the gate receipts.

Seriously, you are so low.

Yes, I was just pointing out another thing that can happen, saying that there's a possibility for someone at 4th to be better than 5th when I was talking to Beener. Better survey. Better financially. But I never said it's always better to finish 4th. I was just pointing out something that people miss.

I don't know what's wrong with people here. When I say there was an exception to something, which was true, I am being made to sound like, oh wait, they said I AM, I'm advocating that exception.

Sorry, I didn't mean to attack. I even edited my post after I re-read it because it did sound harsh.

Just do the math on your own team for your own league. Work out how much you'd make finishing 4th and how much you'd make finishing 5th. I'm guessing that just like 99% of the BB world, you'd make more for finishing 5th.

What you said earlier is 'we're not putting it into perspective'. As in those that were complaining about the playoff economy. Your math skills are obviously strong so I'm guessing that you can see what we're all complaining about now.

Again, sorry, didn't mean to attack you.

I actually sound very harsh when I talk or write too as English is not my first language so I think I'd like to apologize as well. Wording it by saying putting things into perspective might sound like I want to put a stamp on what's wrong/right. Yes, the math would show that I would earn less if I finish 4th compared to fifth.

Apologies accepted.

Except, as a fifth place team, your fans are going to feel worse about your season as next season starts. Meaning that your gate revenues next season are likely to be lower than the would have been if you finished fourth.

And since your whole league now knows you're a tanker, they're more likely to go after you in league games (never know when you'll decide to tank a game for one reason or another), thus making you more likely to lose games you might have won if people decided you weren't worth the risk of going after, further depressing your future gate receipts.

This doesn't sound right.

Fact: I was 400k worse off by not finishing 5th. So you are telling me I can recover more than 400k next season by finishing 1-2 place higher? I can't work it out. I really can't.

If tanking might have any impact on your results the reverse is true I'm afraid. Just ask yourself, if your opponent is going to tank, what would you do? Will you field your full strength team? If people know you tank a lot, they will speculate and field a weakened team in the hope that you might tank and field a better team elsewhere.

I was pointing out the 5th place problem right after the change was introduced and now we finally start to form some resistance against it.

If you guys want to outthink yourselves about the difference of an immediate 5th place payday and a small bonus for the next season for 4th place finishers, you should also think about deflation, decreasing salaries and transfer prices...

He earned 139k but u have to dedut the salaries... And again that comes less then if he finished 5th. If u are 4th and loose the first game of playoffs its always better to finish 5th.

Ashburn—I'm sorry, but you're completely missing the whole point of Beener's premise: that virtually every team finishing 5th is better off financially than the 3rd and 4th place teams. I would take his claim a step further by saying that many 2nd-place finishers would be better off.
