Chistmas Day Special - Interview with Big_Boss_Will, Manager of NEWBak Ku Teh Kings
Just before the much anticipated game between NEWBak Ku Teh Kings and Flyer sonic at Void Deck court, EricPress catches up with big_boss_will for a Christmas day interview.
1. Your first season in SBBL, how is the feeling thus far?
Big_Boss_Will: I'm still somewhat surprised that eh, I'm here in SBBL. Thought I was in a way lucky that I only had to face one extreme powerhouse (Hoop Magical) to get here. However, once reality sets in, I think I'm going to be pummelled every game la. lol. But I'm still having fun along the way. Hope I can stay though. haha
2. Currently in 4th position, with 3 wins out of 7 games thus far, the fans are delighted with the team's performance. So what is the team's target for the season?
Big_Boss_Will: I want to make the playoffs even though if it means getting thrashed by the no1 or if the stars and planets align for me, thrashed by the no2 or no3 seed. I'm still a competitive person and that is my (pretty high) goal for my squad. If really really die die cannot get there at least I'll try to stay in SBBL. lol
3. What is your prediction for the coming Christmas day evening game with your old pal FlySonic? Are you looking forward to the game?
Big_Boss_Will: 100-99 in Sonic's favour. 100 for Flyer Sonic so everyone can get the free drink (I hope I'm included!) and 99 for me because I wish that the game will be a close and competitive one with no one getting a real edge till the end. Still I think Sonic will win la. I have never beaten him in league II.1 before and I think that record is safe for a while. His PJL, LAW, Li Po Chu combi is downright scary and hey, I do hope I can train up a trio of sg superstars one day too! hah
4. With the purchase of Bernardinas Šilinas and Giovanni Maria Donnarumma, is that all? Or will there be a few more transfer?
Big_Boss_Will: Hopefully that will be all. haha. Wouldn't want my entire team to be new. lol
5. The fans are excited over new Italian signing, Giovanni Maria Donnarumma, will he be name as the team captain? Who are your key players for this season?
Big_Boss_Will: No for team captain. That will be Sapian Bin Bidi. Team Caps need not be the best player on the field but at least he has to be in the squad for a while so everyone can trust him and follow. Key players will be everyone! lol. I always think every game everyone in my team should contribute, try to do something. No one should just "dominate" and score 50 with 0 asts and 0 rebs. If everyone gets on the scoreboard, stat sheet with 2-20+ pts, some rebs and asts and we win thats a good game to me.
6. What are your plans for ex SGP U21ers like Ahmad Islam, Sapian bin Bidi & Yeo Engheng? Will they be force out of the team by your recent new signings?
Big_Boss_Will: Continue training them especially if I have some slots available and give them playing time. Their best has(hopefully) yet to come. They wont be forced out of rotation by the new signings or drafts but they have to work to stay in the rotation.
