I can't figure out why my set starters didn't start today. I'm sure it happened today, and think it has happened for my other cup games. It's really messing with my players enthusiasm...and mine.

Hi, I have the following problem: in the last game, the player Jose Amenábar, who was called as main player - reviewing the alignment of the party - was not named as main player, and Raul Gebhard being called but i called Raul for the bench...

I expect a response cause it affects seriously my weekly train and shape for Raul... ( Raul played 89 minutes this week, and seriusly, it´s too much )

Please check it, because when i check the last game ( the inmortals vs san felipe drinkers the main player is Jose Amenábar and the backup is Raul, and when the match stars is Raul the main player.

something is very wrong with "Depth Chart until 4th" now, for 2 or 3 games when i played this tactic now, players don`t substitute like they should, in example in today`s game my PG played all 48min, even there was backup player too, and others players don`t substitute like they did last season :(

and today i played game and set to "strictly follow depth chart", i put my SF in center position, and my C as backup in center position, and my center did play just 5 minutes!!!

PLZZZ BB HELP!!!! i need this to be changed back like it was some time ago, or atleast like it should be, because my roster is weaker than most of teams in my league, and there are little chances for me if tactics dont work like they should... :(

p.s.
please someone give a link to BB post in this matter, if there are one...

This might have been brought up before, not sure.

Twice now, I've set a lineup with 9 players in the orders and only 9 players available. I set the PG to have no backups or reserves, and set 4 backups for the other 4 positions.

Then I set the tactics to "strictly follow depth chart" and "let them play" for fouls.

For some reason the GE/coach subs in another player for the PG in the 4th (during blowout mins).

(10657690). PG Ascariz gets subbed out with :40 to go for Verseck, the starting SF that wasn't listed anywhere else in the orders.

(10657666) PG Cassado gets subbed out w/ 1:40 left in the 3rd qtr for a backup shooting guard.

I run this formation every game and all the other times it works. This was not an issue caused by fouling out or getting injured either.

One weird thing I've noticed is if I go to set the next game and choose one of these games from "former matches" drop down, I see that it has a player listed as backup at PG, while I'm 100% certain that I didn't set a player at backup.

To confirm that this is a bug:

If I had set a player at backup, why would they only come in after 47:20 or 34:20 of play? Only in the case of an injury or fouling out, which is not the case.

I posted about this a couple of weeks ago (78952.1). Best I can figure is that the ge makes some calculations with 2 minutes or less to go in the game (regardless of fouls or score) to optimize the lineup. If any starters are still playing, it will put in another starter that is better suited fort that position no matter what lineup formations were selected. To get around this "odd feature" I have been mostly playing 7 players at a time (instead of 9) wherein the two starters who are pulled out are much worse at pg than the pg starter who is listed as starter, backup and reserve for pg.

i am starting to think that problem is from drop-down menu choice, maybe it is somehow conflicting with standard lineup...

Same thing again tonight as in this post above (26712.144)

(10657706)

Ascariz plays 47:23 at PG, then gets subbed out for the last 37 seconds. It wouldn't be so annoying that the GE is messing this up if missing 48 minutes by a little bit isn't as big as we are being told.

Kicker is I'm doing all this to attempt to cross-train a big man with guard skills and build a SF. Near impossible without wrecking your team.

charles seemed to think it was not a bug, but rather a feature of the ge that has not changed.

the only way i have figured out to overcome this is to make sure (when a blowout is expected) that there will be no players on the bench (resting starters included) that would have significantly better pg skills than the player installed as pg. thus, have the pg types play all 48 minutes and allow the pf/c back-ups - of course, this could be difficult for your team ...
