Game shape seems so random. Last week I had three tough matches so I broke my normal rules and played some of my boys a little more than usual. Top minutes was Mo who actually went UP a level to strong after playing 90 minutes. Amazing! Luck seems to balance out though, at the other end a different player who should have been 48+ bizarrely played 47 minutes lost a game shape and training effect. He sucks!

all i am saying is, if you have a deep roster then you do not need to train game shape as you can compete in all areas without sacrificing skill training. if you do not have many good players, like most of us, to win promotion, to gain homecourt advantage, to win cup games etc., it makes sense to give up skill training.

of course there is random factor - otherwise it would be boring. the massage-doc also influences the gs rise/drop per minutes.

i dont say aplayer with 80+ minutes has to drop gameshape but the chance for a drop is increased and the chance for a rise is decreased. still, its possible

the basic discussion here was if its recommended to train gameshape. and in my opinion if u manage ur minutes its waste of trainingtime. i did it once in 8+ seasons (last season in the final week before my second promotion match)

i understand your point. but in my opinion it would be the wrong way. cause u never get better by giving up skilltraining and you will never have the chance to be competitive in 3 games a week. but if u do skilltraining perhaps u be there in 3-4 seasons.

by the way: your problem is the problem of 45k other users out of 50k. i dont know many teams that can really stay in cup for the final4 and promote/win championchips.

in small countries, many teams can do this easily..

It doesn't reset...it goes up or down depending on how many minutes the player played. Play too many minutes or too few minutes and GS will be negatively impacted. There is also a slight random factor involved.

what would be the ideal amount of minutes to play a player to maintain his GS?

You want at least 48 minutes for training purposes and to maintain at least a respectable GS. The ideal amount (for strong/proficient GS) in my opinion is between 50-65 minutes. Other people have different numbers but these numbers work for me. You also have to take into account, the random factor. For instance, last week I had a player with 48 minutes who went up to proficient GS. As long as you aren't below 48 mins or way above (like 80+) you should be able to maintain a respectable GS. Respectable GS being the minimum that I like to have my players at.

I aim for 55-70 minutes. Try and make sure they don't play more then 80 minutes as game shape will likely take a hit at that point.

Funny thing my SG had 112minutes last week and his GS got improved, but as you said random its a big factor here too.
