Consider Team A vs Team B - Scores: 85-86 - Time Remaining: 15 seconds - Team A has possession

10 seconds remaining, ball is stolen from Team A.
7 Seconds remaining Player B from Team B shoots a 3 pointer. Scored!

Game over.
Final score 85-89.

I would still consider that a game winning shot even though, by your steps abpve, it wouldn't.

Your example is of an important shot to be sure. That shot maybe ices the game, but it's neither a game winner nor a buzzerbeater. The previous post you were referencing was talking specifically about buzzerbeaters.

great suggestions everybody. how about adding a rookie game to the agenda for the all-star week. not sure when it would be able to be played. but just thought it would add to the spectacle of the week. and then also incorporating all else that was previously said in the thread, for instance the MVP acknowledgement and the information about the players appearance added to their page.

not all teams keep their draft picks...what if there are not enough rookies in the league?

A cash reward for your player being in the All Star Weekend. We all know this happens in real life, All Star players do sell more jerseys just by being an all star. Lets do it in the game too.

Usually I would like this idea, but the way all stars are being picked just isn't right. I'm one of the better teams in my league and I didn't get a single all star.

Sometimes it hasn't been that much better than that in the NBA. I am certain there have been guys on the All-Rookie team that weren't good enough to start for their own team.

I think the randomness is covered with the draft - hilarity would be nice tho.
