why philippines U21 to begin with?

i understand the desire but as you can see we, philippine BB players are pretty solid behind our national teams. how can you convince us, or me for that matter, that we need you? what do you have to lay on the table that will make us seriously consider you and put the future of our team in your hands knowing that you're not a filipino?

what are your plans to make the community participate?

If ever I will be elected as the U21 Manager, my stint will be focused on what I call The IEE Program. Of which, there are three aspects: Inspire, Engage and Entrench.

Inspire. Under this proposition, are strategies to make the Pinoy U21 Team exciting to the eyes of the whole Pinoy BB Community. We will make them believers. We will make them fans. We will wake the Pinoy Pride. For the more we cultivate the interest of the community, the more GMs will then prefer training Pinoy Players than acquiring strong foreign imports. As a result, more Pinoy Players will be trained in the future.

Engage. We will create touch points where people can be informed on how they can help the Pinoy U21 Team. As stated in my speech, we will continue what Lia has done. We make avenues where people can exchange ideas, communicate with each other and discuss tactics without the prying eyes of foreign scouts. This proposition is aimed to provide great experience to more people and make them feel that they are also part of the U21 Team.

Entrench. Success of the U21 Team should should be long lasting and not just during the reign of one manager. Emphasis will be on the development and maintenance of the U21 Player Data Bank and its monitoring system. This will ensure that the next U21 Managers will have fresh supplies of talents.

i hope you don't mind me responding late to your queries. it's the time zones we live in, you see. ^_^

i enjoy talking with you. i thank you. ^_^ and yeah, it's kinda interesting that you want an active community.

this question goes to all the aspiring U21 coaches. non-participants of this thread will surely not get my vote. ^_^

i'm sure you've looked at the achievements of the U21 team (philippines, of course) and i think you would agree that philippines just had its best seasons under the tutelage of liacruz. with this, what do you think the team should:

1. do to cover the areas for improvements? (please also list what do you think are the areas for improvement of the team).
2. do to further augment the team's strengths? (please list the team's strengths as well)

For Question #1, I would focus on our U21 trainees, and the managers that handle them, because i saw that many did not know or didn't care about our U21. The U21, together with other people who want to help, could mentor these managers as well as other managers even if they don't have trainees for the future. I think that is an area for improvement.
Another Area for Improvement would be keeping our lineups, tactics, and player stats private. I think that other countries may have learned about our scouts, and possibly banning them like what happened last season. Even if our U21 is safe now, I dont want the same thing to happen again. I could make an offsite BB Community like in Facebook or any social network. These would be kept private and away from the hands of other rival countries.

For Question #2, Our U21 has a lot of strengths, like our Big Men, but i feel we could do more in terms of tactics. We could hold private conferences and see what others, especially the more experienced Filipino Managers, think what our lineup should be and why.
Another strength is our community. Our community is very active and so we need to get them involved or help them more. I could make a forum like "The Staff Search" to help our managers look for better trainers or doctors, not just for training their players but also for their success.

If you do so, you'll kill your Community.

We could hold private conferences and see what others, especially the more experienced Filipino Managers, think what our lineup should be and why.

If you're in charge you should choose tactics and remember that Staff is not useful only for scouting. ;)

Yep... this is the work that should be done by the NT Coach! :P

1.If one would look more closely in the U21 line up last season. You would notice that two kind of players exist. First are the Point Guards who could shoot, pass, drive and defend the perimeter. Second are very solid Centers with four main skills which are amazingly high. What the team lack before was a legitimate SF. One who could defend the shaded lane and the perimter at the same time do damage offensively inside and outside. Emmanuel Savella was the closest that we have. Yet we need the likes of Laurel and Quisumbing. Last season, I was periodically checking the 18 years old(who are 19 now) and I have seen players with potential to follow on the footsteps of those two that I mentioned.

2.Last season, I believe we have best big men out there. Probably better than the other U21 Teams. Unfortunately their game shapes were not kept consistently high. Our loses were mainly because of game shape problems. The same for this season. Our strength will still be inside. Maybe we can augment this by giving them improvements in their secondaries. Our tactics will be more flexible if we have players with more rounded skills.

Those are the specifics. There are also generics, like mentoring, scouting, communication and growing the community which were already mentioned by the others.

So what really made the previous U21 Manager successful? She made a team of staff that are not just friends inside the world of Buzzerbeater but also friends outside of it.
