Any higher player will pop more in the stats you mention if everything about both of the regarding player is the same excluding their heights, potential won't have effect on training unless you have trained that player until he has reached his potential cap from this analysis made by GM-rip and naker virus:-
0 Announcer: < 6k
1 Bench warmer: < 8k
2 Role player: < 13k
3 6th man: 15-18k
4 Starter: 26-30k
5 Star: 45-50k
6 AllStar: 60-80k
7 Perennial allstar: 95-140k
8 Superstar: 140-220k
9 MVP: 215-315k
10 Hall of famer: 500k+
11 All time great: 1M+

By the way, I found this on the game manual which is quite useful for your training:-
players will improve more quickly not only with additional playing time, but also a more skilled player will improve more quickly. For example, a great inside defender and rebounder will find it easier to improve his shot blocking than a poor inside defender and poor rebounder would

Edited and additional info.: If it is compare with a tall player which is bad in inside def. during game and a shorter player but is good in inside def. during game, then I do not know the answer on which will make a better C. I'll try and ask in the help forum, just only thought about this matter.

A bit over generalising. A taller player won't more pop MORE. But he will pop marginally faster than the shorter player. The salary guide is an estimate of the max you can hit with a player based on his potential. There are a lot of people who argue that it is more based on the number of skill pops in the skills that are pertinent to the 'best position' (which increases salary... which is why salary is used a guide to see when a player might CAP)

By the way, I found this on the game manual which is quite useful for your training:-

Yes. This is also being discussed in the boards. Basically they are saying that certain skills, for example JR & JS are related. If you have lets say, STRONG JR but PITIFUL JS.... then when you train JS it will pop faster than it normally does... They're calling it skill elasticity.

I'm not sure if you're asking whether a tall player with bad ID is better than a short player with good ID in the game. But the answer is no. Height only affects the speed of training. In the actual game, only the skill levels matter. A tall player with PROLIFIC Rebounding for example is the same as a short player with PROLIFIC Rebounding.

Wow thanks, now I know what the game manual is trying to say, its related to elasticity.

About this case:-
I'm not sure if you're asking whether a tall player with bad ID is better than a short player with good ID in the game. But the answer is no. Height only affects the speed of training. What I'm trying to say is that a taller player will train faster in RE, IS, ID, and SB if compared to a not as tall player.

So, concluded from above information, a taller player will make a better C if they begin to train with same stats and undergo C training.
