A salary cap will penalize those teams that did a better job training and building a better team. Why set up a system that penalizes the better managers?

As for tanking, the salary floor is now there to penalize teams that want to tank, save cash and then buy a team back. They can still try this strategy but won't be able to build up nearly as much in cash reserves.

As well, a salary cap would probably demolish any lower division teams that are developing U21 or NT prospects, dedicated farm team or not. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

There is already a kind of cap in each division,it happens because of the arena

So if a guy already has the 3rd highest salaries in the league but isn't a good enough team to have HCA in the playoffs, you would fully support him if he buys a couple of 100k centers just before the playoffs so that he can lose money and promote, that's because he did a better job training and building his team.

Right?

Thats not quite right - you can save money and build a team that will lose you money every week over a very long period of time - just look at the B3 contenders.

Another thing is that with a hard cap, farm teams would get troubles holding expensive players that naturally should play in higher divisions.

Thats why it's a kind of cap,you can operate above but you'll lose money.

It's even almost necessary to do it to promote or to be a B3 contender, even tough man can build a great team under the "cap"

there are teams in this game that have tens of millions saved - losing money is no issue for such a team.
