That's all well and goodl, but it doesn't give me a concrete reason as to why I lost.
You should look for a reason within your team. Compare your ratings/stats to opponent. You were doing perhaps too good in 3-rd quarter. Looking at the game stats, he was way better on the rebounds. There are plenty of things he has advantage on, going into 4-th quarter. You have some serious stamina issues at PF position. Toufekas and Baharev had almost the same minutes going into the 4-th and ended up with almost the same minutes, with no foul trouble problems. You can't really say, that you have good backups, because you really don't. Most of his players are 30+ (only 2 of his players are 28 yo), so he has a great exp advantage and his ratings so no stamina problems aswell. He also is playing home. He outrebounded you by a big margin, which kept him in the game at that 3-rd quarter, where you were hitting your shots. In the 4-th, he started hitting his shots better and rebounded your misses -> thus a big margin in the last quarter.
The last play makes no difference. Perhaps players just wanted to test out the experimental "last minute play". I've seen a whole bunch of last minute plays and they end up in a number of different ways. Steal, shot clock violation, out of bounds, missed shot, hit shot, foul etc. Usually it ends with a missed shot or a broken play. Your play ended up with a basket. Who said your players did not stop defending that last play (because they were goind to lose anyway) and let the opponents score a bit easier (did not want to foul).
Guys who understand the signs, make changes and promote, guys who struggle with the info, populate the lower leagues.

Everything you just told me is a guess. I never said that I had great backups. I did compare the ratings with my opponent and they appear to be at least equal. He was rated higher at rebounding. I was higher at inside scoring and game flow. If the other team was that superior it should have shown up for the entire game. Not just the last several minutes. The reason for the rebounding discrepancy was because the sim allowed me 4 made buckets in the final quarter.

Your assertion that maybe the last play was the other team "testing out their experimental play" or that my guys "quit guarding" is utter hogwash. The fact that you would try to convince me that the sim is so advanced that it allows for such things is poppycock. It is at the very least an end of game bug and at the most the system getting to a predestined point spread.

Does anyone have anything other than a guess here?

I remember a match i played some seasons ago. (29606486)
It was a tight and interesting game. until 3de quarter started and my players for some reason had stopped playing. In the forth quarter though everything was back to normal. This game is far more mysterious then your is if i have to say what i think. As i said earlier stamina can have a big impact on the result of game. But how do you explain it happening in the third quarter and then going back to normal in the forth?

Wish I could answer that question for you but no one can. I think that's part of the frustration. Other than the buggy play at the end which I still believe is truly an endgame sim problem, the point of this game as I now see it is to train your guys up as best you can, sell them for money to buy experienced players and then train stamina every week. Expand arena, rinse and repeat.

It sucks that you can't develop your whole team from the ground up and be competitive.

Enough of that, I don't want the thread to get away from the last play of the game before a mod addresses it.

0:01 Ken Omalley tries to grab the offensive rebound, but the ball goes out of bounds.
0:00 Kevin Lavoie opens up the play with a pass to Juan Antonio Solis Zuleta. Juan Antonio Solis Zuleta bullies his way to this basket for a tough inside shot.
0:00 Scored

Unless the ball rolled the entire length of the court after Ken Omalley touched it (which would have run the clock out) this last play should have been a full court or half court heave.

Not a mod, but I will spell it out for you.

Do you see 0:01 Ken Omalley tries to grab the offensive rebound, but it goes out of bounds.

Your assuming the ball gets placed under the basket. When in actuality it could have bounced the whole way back to either side of the court, 3 point line extended. You also don't know if its 0:01.0 or 0:01.9. That is nearly a second different.

Next

0:00 Kevin Lavoie opens up the play with a pass to Juan Antonio Solis Zuleta.

Why does the ball have to be rolled in. Maybe his defender was fronting him, and caught a lob pass over the top of him. From here its not hard to image this.

Juan Antonio Solis Zuleta bullies his way to this basket for a tough inside shot.

This doesn't mean your team stopped playing, it just means the got beat.

So, in the end, I don't see anything that could be identified as a bug. As a matter a fact, just last season, I played a game, where I trailed the entire game, only to win on a last second shot. (36253434)

Everything you just told me is a guess.
Obviously I can only guess, because I don't know your player skills and your opponent player skills. So I had to use the game stats and ratings to determine why the outcome was what it was.
Your assertion that maybe the last play was the other team "testing out their experimental play" or that my guys "quit guarding" is utter hogwash. The fact that you would try to convince me that the sim is so advanced that it allows for such things is poppycock.
You need to think creativly. Picture your guys going for dunks, steals etc. There will always be few of those presentational errors, that does not mean it's a bug.
the point of this game as I now see it is to train your guys up as best you can, sell them for money to buy experienced players and then train stamina every week.
This sentence shows why you can never succeed. You lack basic knowledge of the game. Looking at the players you have bought, arena you have built. Do you even know what staminas cap value is?

I've seen a plethora of games where a match will remain very close until the 4th and suddenly one team completely breaks down and gets destroyed by 30. That's some odd bug certainly, not because it couldn't happen, but because it happens far to often. That being said though, if you lost huge in the 4th quarter you simply were not the better team.
