One of my players got the 2nd highest average rating in the world, over 70 FG%, 1st scoring leader (4th in rebounds) in my league, and best efficiency according to buzzer-manager and still couldn't get the MVP. He's only 3rd.

i guess it becuase your league is much harder , so much rich talent..

Not saying this isn't the case but there are exceptions. I finished on top at 20-2 and my guy won MVP this season and only averaged 29 minutes a game, didnt finish in the top 10 in scoring, rebounding or assists.

Yeah there are a number of other factors as well, it just seems like minutes is a big factor, because a lot of other ones depend on it (production, how much the fans see the player etc).

all these factor in.

My league I expected Leon Rushing to win it despite his team being #2 our side, and #5 overall record in league. Because he lead league in reboundings, was top 10 in scoring, and had 1 of the 2 highest ratings per game.

he edged out 133-127 voting on guy on the 20-2 team, #2 team overall in league, 80+K salary center, who was 3rd in rebounding, not top 10 in scoring, and was the other highest rated guy.

if you look just numbers, Rushing should have run away with it. but factor in the team's 6 less wins, and the rating, and boom, barely edged the guy out.

Let's also not forget that the game tends to factor in how likely you are to post complaining about not winning the MVP - the more likely you are to blow your top, the more likely it is that the game will do that just to see you do that. ;)

You must look at the stats for the season across the board.
My team finished with the second best record. My center won the mvp for the division here are his numbers... 17 pts, 15RBs, 3As, 2.5 BSs......and a 15.0 overall rating.....that last stat is the tilter, but you see a player that effected the game on both ends of the court.
The GMs who constantly talk about FG% are missing the point, is you leading FG maker a steals leader too....how about assists along with thoes other two I just mentioned....then see your overall rating for the season as your tiebreaker.
You must get out of the mindset of "Buzzerbeater" as the end all be all, and think "basketball" with BB being a tool to accomplish what basketball is to you in your mind.
An MVP type player in many cases is the reason for the good team record.....and if you watch the games, whoevers name shows up consistently the most in a positive way WILL get MVP consideration.
I have seen too many games to think otherwise. My resume includes 6 MVP winners....1 guard wining 4, and two centers winning 1 each, and the one common factor is that all three players impacted multiple games.

Well, you as much as anyone know that my response to this would be something along the lines of "If I have a player winning MVP it means that I have four starters who aren't doing their jobs." ;)
