3 weeks ago I went 3-5 and hit 2 HRs in an adult rec softball playoff match in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Also, in high school way back in the day, I hit a home run for my baseball team against a curveball. So yeah...

Is that right? Well, I once hit an inside the park home run back in my tee-ball days.

Is that right? Well, I once hit an inside the park home run back in my tee-ball days.

My third grade baseball highlights were:
- game winning RBI by cleverly drawing a HBP (though I think this was a legit one where I took the pitch in the ribs and not where I stuck my foot out)
- bunt triple. Technically, I suppose, it would be more of a bunt and one or more errors, but I feel like it's important to be positive and rather than assign blame to the guys who screwed up, just give me more credit for being awesome. It's youth sports, after all.

With such a sterling and impressive record in my sporting exploits, I feel I need to be extremely careful in how I discuss the NT/U21 issues in BB because my words carry weight that an average man's might not. Unless that average man were as fat as I am, at which point they'd probably have equal weight.

I caught a ball with my eyes closed and my glove held high up in the air -- praying to God I'd make my first catch. I was playing pitcher for the 1996 Linda Little League Solongs Tee-Ball team. I even remember running half way to first-base and under handing the ball to a teammate standing on first, knowing he'd drop it other wise, thus confirming the runner was out.

It was the proudest day of my short lived life. Although, I watched a lot of Sandlot as a kid. It was my favorite movie after all. It may be possible that I'm confusing parts of my greatest little league accomplishments with the movie - The Sandlot, and the scene where "Smalls" makes his first catch.
