Australia Officially in the World Cup!
(35151)

In a 62pt drumming on Tounes, Australia has stormed its way into the World Champs starting next week. The fast pace suited the Aussies, opening the first term with a 47pt quarter. It was a the first break that Tounes SF Touhami realised he had put his shoes on the wrong feet, swapping them over, enabling him to play some form of defense. But wingman AA was not that easily contained, as he led his team to 38pts, with 10 assists, just shy of the illusive u21 triple-double.

Manager Leeroy was rewarded for his hard 3 seasons of training last night, watching his 2 u21 players combine for 57pts, 20 assists, 8 threes, and 9 rebounds. Relationships amongst the teams were tested at one point in the third, as AA drained a three, only to be stared at by dominant big man Snyder, who mumbled "Cmon boys, share it". His frustrations understandable as he went a perfect 5-5FG on the night, but was denied more looks by the hot outside scorers.

MVPs
3 votes- AA (38pts on 16-21FG, 10ass, 5 stls, 7 rebs, 5 3pters)
2 votes- Tiet (19pts, 10 ass, 3 3pters)
1 vote- Azzi (18pts on 8-10FG, 10 boards, 2 blocks, 1 ass, 1 stl).

The World Cup schedule is soon to be announced....

Happy that my boys got their first start and didn't disappoint. Can't get too happy though, this game was essentially garbage time for 48 minutes

Also I think they shared plenty with 10 assists a piece!

Aussies off to a good start in World Cup
(35900)

It is excitement time for the Aussie u21 as we embark on our 3rd consecutive u21 World Cup. Morocco came into the tournament with the weakest salary team. It showed on the court last night as Australia took a 57 point victory, highlighted by a 45pt 2nd quarter en route to a 141pt final score.

The shooting was very well distributed, with 8 players into double figures, but no player going really big. With the shooting percentage over 60%, Australia almost doubling the rebound total, and a whopping 35 assists to just 15, there was some stat stuffing going on, and a real difficult task to pick 3 MVPs.

MVPs
3 votes- Viggiano (23 pts on 8-15 FG, 3 3s, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks and 1 steal)
2 votes- Eric (17 pts on 7-10 FG, 8 assists, 3 rebounds, 3 steals)
1 vote- Azzi( 11pts on 4-6 FG, 14 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal)

Next up, Spain! Game shape, game shape, game shape.

2 weeks, 2 losses. Last night we were 1 score off the lead until the final minute. I can help but hate the foul inside the last minute strategy. Anyway, some great opposition has handed us defeats, and this week we face the might of Italy.

Aus down Germany in a thriller (35923)
A welcome win vs Germany last night sees us register a win in the final 8 of the World Cup.
http://www.buzzerbeater.com/world/standings.aspx?teamid=1...

The game was in the balance with a final shot to germany in the dying seconds, but defense was the key to our victory, with Snyder coming up with a stop followed by a rebound that handed us the win.

What is with GS this season? I gave my boys practically the same minutes and AA drops to strong from proficient but BT stays at proficient... something smells fishy
