I think he means his SB lowers opponent shot %, making more chances to defense rebound ...
I would like to hear Nachtmahr's thinking, but the point you make, that opponent's shot % is even lower when there are a lot of blocked shots would argue that rebounding was more important, not less.

The thinking is if you can just keep blocking until you get the rebound. If the opponent has 10 extra possesions because of rebounds advantage but you block/alter 15 extra shots you have 5 FGM less against you.

It's easy to say higher rebounding is better, of course it is but to have higher SB you need to compromise somewhere. It's always the question wether it's worth to give up X to get more Y, and in Nachtmar's case it is. You can make another case in which you sacrifice a bit of IS for the higher SB and keep RB the same, because if your bigs have high PA you still have a decent flow, or you could sac some ID, or a little bit of 2/3 skills.

For every shot your opponent misses, there is 1.00 rebounds. For every shot your opponent has blocked there is 1.00 rebounds. 1.00 = 1.00

I think some blocked shots end up out of bounds - but I am not sure, as I don't follow the games due to technical issues (no flash)

IF i agree with all your thinking then I would just copy your team and then its a cookie cutter and that is boring.

Div III cookie cutter nonetheless. It's debateable if that concept is worth to be copied.

This is a player that will play as an inside PG and d switch to big when I am done training. Not enough IS for inside big but I think serviceable for ii/princeton/motion. Thanks for the thoughts. I will be experimenting a bunch this season. His highest assist total this year was 9 in base offense at pf.
