Hope I'm not too late to chime in. In any case Njord was pretty close to the truth, as the games are calculated during those 15 minutes, but not at the first second, as it takes time to process all of them.
As for the money but, I guess it's related to all the other weird offseason bugs that have been popping up lately. Luckily, the next transaction fixed the total amount.
