Since it is a tactics choice I'm probably making a mistake in this theory though, anyone could explain me how this defence is supposed to work??

I was wondering this yesterday and i found this http://www.coachesclipboard.net/131zonedefense.html which told me more about it.

I played a R&G team last night, probably the best in my league and i went for 1-3-1, basically becuase i was certain that he would not change his offensive tactic. I have much better inside players than him so i was confident that i would get the vast majority of rebounds still. I was at home too.

Check it out (4248824)

If i thought he might change his tactic, i would've gone for 3-2 zone.

hm, as I can see you team has much better players, so your team was stronger nonetheless... I am not convinced the 1-3-1 zone gave you the victory here. I'd liked to have seen the result if both teams would have equal players...

They are not your friends; they dispise you. I am the only one you can count on. Trust me.

what i see at this game, your opponent make a lot of TO is this normal with 1-3-1 or maybe normal for your opponent ;)

I think Lord of Doom has a valid point. But they do have a better outside team than me.

This is the largest TO i have seen from an opposition and I think that the tactic has got something to do with it. It almost seems like it is a mix between 3-2 and FCP. Although mostly 3-2.

It seems like, maybe i go in my archiv and search my old 1-3-1 games(they are pretty old) and lok if there that uch To like here.

But i like the theory with this mix betwenn fcp and 3-2.

hm, I doubt it is. I asume BB would have added to the description for 1-3-1 that it has a higher pace, which they didn't...
(yes I asume too much, it is realy troublesome ;) )
