So you are complaining the GE didn't let you steal this one as well?

I not think its question of win or lose, but if the same exactly game , same all, can go with a 26 point delta of difference we are playing from years a game that should be called flip the coin, not buzzerbeater....
Its embarassing for the whole games, for people Who try to analize things, putting efford and time, when things can go anyway in so different way with same settings

Unless one team is far superior, you would expect a variety of results to be possible given the same input. Over a large sample the games would skew towards the best team (e.g TeamA might win 600/1000 games by an average of 3 points), but this is only two games.

It doesn't mean preparing the team is a waste of time, it just means you give yourself the best chance of winning and then it's out of your hands. It happens all the time in real life, especially sports.

The scores make this look a lot different than what actually happened. With 4 minutes left in both games, in the final Lietuva was winning 75-70 where in the scrimmage, Poland was winning 72-70. So the scores were very similar late into the game, but the fouling is what made the final scores as wide of margins as they were. The randomness is there, but it is not as crazy as these scores make it out to be. Very cool experiment, though!

Totally agree, the randomness of GE is not something new its been here for ages and of course it is the deciding factor for close matches

Similar test from season 22 for discussion
(52645123)
(52643477)
By the way: I encourage to arrange similar tests and paste here to have more trials.
Needed is beggining of new season (equal level of enthusiasm for each team), equal setting in both games, the same host team etc. and:
1. Scrimmage and private league (game starting before Friday's training).
2. Private league game (game starting after Friday's training) with team with which you play first league game.

Can be too late on point 1 this season, but point 2 should be still doable.

Just a very obvious question on the very first example of the thread: are we sure that HCA exists for the scrimmage? I see that the scrimmage is played in a different court and I dunno if this court belongs to a Lithuanian manager as well. Well, even if it does, I guess that the HCA might have a different weight in the two games.
