Season 6 Playoffs underway
After 22 games played, judgment day has come once again.
PPL Playoffs has once again arrived, and every season it's getting more exciting than ever. 8 teams will battle it out for the most coveted trophy in the country. 3 new promotees have qualified for the playoffs, knocking out Devil Bats Deimon and Cavite Force, the usual playoff contenders.
Hoes, Batangas Blades, and Loyola Hts BC have been some some of the teams to look at in this season. With Hoes doing an impressive 2nd seed standing in the Big 8, Loyola does the same in the other division, and Batangas Blades, the Division II.3 runner-up, came to prove that they are one to be feared with.
Hoes became an instant threat in the PPL when they won all 22 games last season in the league II.2, and winning all 4 games in the playoffs. Their Big 3 of Ricarmona, Tulek, and Sayong worked hard in reaching their PPL dream, and now, they are one step closer to even go way past their dream... to have the PPL trophy within their reach.
Loyola Hts BC had the same fate, becoming one to look at after winning their League II title, and predicted that they are sure shot of reaching playoffs. Them winning doesn't come that easy, as they lost three straight TV games and practically maiming the league... in their silent fashion.
But as predicted, TrailBlazers United and Jubas Beasts reigned in their throne. kings in their own conferences, Team Polydozel still consistent, Queens Coast getting the edge, and RED ROBINS had their first time sitting at the conference's 4th seat.
Everybody would argue that this is TrailBlazers United's year. As this season, thay can win both National Cup and League Trophies, and if they do, they will set the record for being the first team ever to win three straight League titles, and even doing 'The double'. High pressure seems to be with the camp, but with their roster, as long as it's healthy, the feat will be a cinch.
Jubas Beasts, on the other hand, remains the Beasts of the east, having a monstrous record and still becoming worthy foes for the very favorites. However, this same worthy foe caused them their chance in the National Cup finals spot, in which, they are back to back champions.
Team Polydozel had a luck lustering performance this season, yet, one thing is still in them, a playoff spot.
Since their berth in season 3, Team Polydozel still remains a playoff contender, in the first two seasons, after that, it's always one and done. Also, since the acquisition of Hipolito Guarnes, Team Polydozel continues to be a contender and had high hopes on them. Sadly, these are only hopes. And this season, sitting on the third seed, they have to prove if much has been done in the span of one whole season. Would they, or wouldn't they, reach the PPL Finals?
Queen's Coast and MAPUA RED ROBINS have always been, neck and neck for a playoff spot. Although they both reach the playoffs, they have a "rivalry when it comes to getting the top spot.
They are both pioneers of the league since the birth of PPL, and, along with Cavite Force, are playoff contenders. Since RED ROBINS have been more superior in the last two seasons, Queen's coast have been in the tip of the hat for this season. And this time, RED ROBINS will have the pleasure (or pain?) to play against the Blazers for the title.
Who will reign in season 6? Will it be Dynasty in the form of TrailBlazers United? Or, will one of the mighty teams who qualified will get it? Find out on Tuesday, as the tip-off for the playoffs, will begin.
