In this video, I discuss three scrimmage scheduling hacks (one that 99% of managers don't know) that make your BB life easier once you are out of the cup.

In this video, I induct BubblesExploded and South Africa U21 legend, Cavann Sibeko, into our Hall of Fame, retire his #8, and go over his five most memorable games while with the franchise. I also showcase the new center in town and explain how he can help our playoff push towards D.III.

In this video, I discuss the updated modern game engine with a brand new guest and long-time BB enthusiast, Coco. We cover how the emphasis on passing and bump in assist numbers will impact other skills, explore the early signs on how the modern game engine is impacting tactics and play-style, and provide some theories on what might be next for BB based on these adjustments. 43 minutes of philosophical BB talk, interesting takes, and silly banter.

In this video, I go through the 15 most-played/interesting offensive and defensive tactic combinations in BBB group play in seasons 61 and 62 and discuss how effective (or ineffective) they have been so far in the modern game engine. Are the Isolation Offenses top tier now? Is Princeton more reliable now? Has the 3-2 zone been nerfed? Lots of fun stuff in this one!

3-2 zone is all around the "losers" table and you argue that it is not as overpowered as it were? Think again. ;)

Oh I'm certainly open to being wrong! Just basing my opinion off of the study and the sample size that I had to work with. That's my conclusion (for now). ;) Thanks for watching!

Mate, you are doing the video from offense perspective. The "losers" are offenses which are doing worse this season compared to S61. Almost all of those "under-performing" offenses are in a combo against 3-2 zone. Thus 3-2 zone is a "winner" from defense perspective.

It is not a matter of opinion. It is a fact that you have (failed to) observed.

Good job on the video though. Definitely interesting topic. Thumbs up!

I think you have misunderstood the structure of the findings. When it says the offense and defense at the top, that is the offense and defense of the same team. The data only shows:

How a team who ran Look Inside for offense AND 3-2 zone for defense as a tactic combo did against their opponents.

It is:

Team A: Look Inside 3-2 zone
VS
Team B: Tactics unknown

NOT

Team A: Look Inside (unknown defense)
VS
Team B: 3-2 zone (unknown offense)

The study is showing that for whatever reason tactic combinations that include a 3-2 zone have a lower win-rate% in season 62 than they did in season 61. The best example that 3-2 zone is struggling is by looking at the Motion / M2M verses the Motion / 3-2 zone setups.

Teams who ran Motion / M2M as their tactic combo this season in B3 Group Play won 58.5% of their games (and 56.2% of their games when there was no GDP involved). Teams who ran Motion / 3-2 zone as their tactic combo this season in B3 Group Play only won only 46.7% of their games (and only 45.5% of their games when there was no GDP involved).

Once again, this study does not show which defenses the offenses went up against or which offenses the defense went up against, it only indicates how each tactic combination for ONE team did when ran together.

Ahaaa it makes sense now. I will have to watch it again.

Yes, I definitely misunderstood. But you must admit it is a bit confusing.

I base my statistical analysis on how a particular offense is doing against a particular defense, so naturally I assumed this is what you guys did as well.

Maybe you can do a v2 of this topic with the aforementioned approach.
