Yeah this game is kinda designed if u don't get a shot to win it all, it's better to tank and save $$$$

With so many teams tanking, the value is in being the team who spends the least but doesnt demote. That's probably the route I'll take after my peak is done, I'd rather just sit around 4th-5th place and make a little less but never have to go down to II.

Harder now with the 5th place team having to win a relegation series though.

Floating at 4-5 for seasons seems very boring to me. This game is aleady becoming so dry, I would prefer doing some training and competing for a championship at DII and come up here again for the promotional/attendence bonus.

this game needs a hard salary max to make things more competitive... the max and min salary range is still too wide. I am below the salary floor by 80k but here is no incentive to buy a prime player at 80k salary bc he would just depreciate in value.

Hey H, don't be giving up my secrets:-)...I try to train some youngsters, but it isn't easy to do that and stay up. I only have two real trainees, but I must admit that training is one of the fun aspects of the game. At this level, many of us rely strongly on our older players—and it isn't fun to watch their skills deteriorate;-(

Don't want to beat a dead horse with this history of how things have changed...but in light of how Old players have become the main component of competing teams, and as a result with other mistakes the Developers have created within the Economy, the gap between young and old players is huge....it's nearly impossible to find a quality 26-28 year-old player....and if you do, its' going to be $3-$7 million for that player...So finally BB has recognized the big gap and are making small (almost unnoticeable) changes to the draft to fix this issue...In the time being, it might be a good idea if they significantly slowed the decrease of ratings on players 32+....It's going to take time to fix the imbalance on the TL, and the financial costs we have to endure to compete...It would be nice for reasons of fun, and competition if we could get a little more mileage out of these guys. Maybe instead of having them drop in ratings so significantly, give every player a hard retirement age of 38-40 years old, and have minimal rating decline so they remain productive useful players; but then retire and leave the game.

If you want to compete, you have no choice but to overpay for old players...but like buying a new car losing value the second it leaves the lot, their value has already dropped before we even put them in a game...It's going to take many seasons to fix the gap and have more mid-level players, and quality players that are not old and somewhat affordable...so knowing that, it would be nice if we can get more mileage out of these old players without seeing their ratings drop weekly and their $$value shrink.

Do u guys stand to make a huge profit while staying a float in 4-5 seeds? I know competing for a championship in D2 is basically braking even financially on a weekly basis at best, the price of winning is promotion to DI, the promotion $$$ alone is worth the cost of breaking even for a season. Then the attendance boost put u somewhere around 300k per week profit For a season.

I think it depends on how much payroll you carry to stay in the 4th/5th seed range. Some will profit more than others doing that...Don't forget though...when you drop down your attendance takes a HUGE, HUGE hit...First, you simply can't sell as many seats in D2 as D1, and then just like the promotion bonus you speak of, it works in reverse too...So a lot of the $1 million you receive promoting back up, you lost in attendance revenue by dropping down. Ultra Conservative would be a drop of $100K per game...that's $1.1 mil less than you'd make by staying up....But realistically, you are going to drop more than $200K a game dropping down to D2...So dropping down to pop back up will always be a net loss...The only way tanking is productive, is to do a total tank, maximizing every dollar you can by staying under the Players Salary Floor, training young players who will have value to sell, or will cost you significantly less as the season progresses than their actual worth because of training pops.

Excellent point all, Jase! There seems to be limits on attendance revenues for each division
