2) If your C or PF is listed as the defender against a smaller player, this is almost certainly because they are trying to block the shot as a help defender, not because they got caught up in a switch.

This OK, but people are reporting centers defending shots from the 3P line. And PGs defending a dunk of a pivot! Of course this may happen from time to time, but last saturday this was happening more often that it should.

3)it's evident that the end result is that people are looking at the scores and saying their defense doesn't work anymore.

Somehow defense has been affected by the GE changes. Maybe not directly but as a side effect. Pace, of course, could be responsible of that. We can just suppose it because we don´t have all the information, so we can only give you our feedback.

In Spain, this match: (13099827) was played between a very offensive team (more attack than defense) and a very defensive team (the opposite).
Last season the same match finished with a 43% of field shots for both teams.
Now, both teams played "look inside" and both teams used the right defense "zone 2-3", and the result of these tactics were 58 and 56 % of field shots respectively.

Can we explain this by just a faster pace? Maybe yes, but what we can see is that defenses are not working as they did before, in other words, defenses were overwhelmed by their attacks whatever the reason is.

i agree that total posessions are a fundamentel piece to produce realistic stats. i pointed it out earlier and i could repeat in the suggestion forum, if it's requested.
one major problem are lines like this:

3:46 Player A takes a three point shot
3:46 Player B pulls down the rebound

so you are taking no time of the clock, and this is huge i think. just take of 2 seconds for a 3point shot, 1 second for every inside shot and a MISSED 2nd (3rd) freethrow (i know, dunkings won't take 1 second, but an average value will do fine) and take 0 seconds of the clock, when a shooting foul was comitted, the new 24 seconds start with the rebound.
As a simple example take a "normal" BB-Game with 90 shots per team. this will make 180 shots and maybe 10 missed freethrows leading to a rebound. so we are talking easily about 3 minutes of playing time if you take at least 1 second away, every time a rebound takes place! i guess, this would be a great first step and this shouldn't be too hard to implement.

i noticed this even last season, but your improvement for blocking seems to be uneffective - cause the number of overall blocks seems to be decreasing and when the blocks happens still the guard are in the first row even in team with good blocking big mans.

If we go back previous GE, please Keep it all the season, to not distort competition.

Thanks

PD. It could be most useful, test the new engine in PL.

Check some games where at least one team used Look inside or other inside tactic. Lots of blocks.

Or do not "upgrade" it this way at all. How many people liked it? Almost none.

in my games it was 4, from the opposing team and two of mine - and both with inside tactic did you mean that?

Last season the average of blocks in the Bundesliga was betwen 7 and 8, after the first game 8 blocks are top and maybe a small around 4 is average.

To make this skill more sufficient, like it was in salary it is not usefull.

People didn't like an engine which still had major flaws? Shocking.

"still" is a biased word in this case. Nobody knows if it ever be without flaws. i t was tested and we know what happened.
