Edit: BTW, I think the prospectus page will break (or at a minimum, become very much less useful) once we roll into season 11 and there are no completed games to report on. I'll try to get a season dropdown there soon.


This is fixed. You can look at the prospectus of past seasons now for a team.

Seemed to be working when I tried it yesterday. Did you fix it a while ago, or was it just never broken?

It was technically working for season 11, but there was no data. I should have been more specific... there is now the ability to look at previous seasons (subject to a little disclaimer I just added to the page).

Oh, that sounds great.

Awesome tool. I've always thought that sortable team stats are a natural addition to the supporter package (especially opponent stats), but it looks like you got there first.

The past seasons isn't working on teams that have promoted/demoted between 10 and 11.

I know. That's why it says "Please note: Previous seasons will only work right now if you were in the same league in the previous season as you are now. This may be handled better in the future." at the bottom of the entry form.

what does it mean pythagorean record?


The pythagorean record is calculated for different sports by using the same formula:

win% = (points for)^n/[(points for)^n+(points against)^n]

where n is different for baseball, basketball, and (American) football. For baseball the exponent is 2, and for football the exponent is 2.4. The most widely accepted exponent I've seen for basketball is 14; however, the one in this program appears to use 10.
