S16 - SBBL opener game - Cheesecake outdueled Pekanbaru 93-90, Fat-A run past Shwe Toe Ngal 112-100.

It seems like S15 playoff semifinal encore. Had Justin Linde-Liepins and Vince Katic were there, cheesecake could won any game like this.

Viktor Sramek & Justin Linde-Liepins late baskets at 4th quarter prevailed cheesecake from Pekanbaru Jaguars 93-90. The match that again featured tight and stingy game, Jaguars were trying their best to fend off cheesecake shooters, but lost focus on rebounding (47-37 reb). Viktor Sramek led cheesecake with 23pts and Linde-Liepins 20. Felipe Massana has 25rebs. Jaguars' Sorin Niculae led teams with 21pts and 8ast. Petrus Alexandersson with 18pts & 14rebs.

Meanwhile another most-awaited match between Fat-A and newcomer STN, Fat-A was led comfortable 83-59 at end of 3rd Q, before STN stormed back with 40pts 4th quarter led by Andrea Nappa, but Romeo Amarilla from Fat-A was able to pull them away, and ended the fight with 112-100. Amarilla led six Fat-A players in double figures scoring with 19pts. Combination of Noel Gimenez Guera and Karel Jaganathan showed STN some warm welcomes, as both players outrebounded total rebounds of STN team (41-39). Andrea Nappa led STN with 28pts and 8reb.

Rivalry match turned into rout. Roberto Paz 30pts brought Sessioes Doers wallooped their rival Lycans mercilessly 89-54. Lycans were without Fang Shuang Xiang with 3 weeks injury. Tim Blancke started on this position, scored 13pts & 9reb. Mike Bertero were held to 4/13 shooting.

The only newcomer that has win the opener is Bobblehead as they beat Singapore Ballers 110-72. Oben Erzan led the team with 29pts. Sing Ballers weren't playing Patrice Caumont as starter, and relied on Dror Polishuk, who dropped 27pts and 11rebs.

S16 - SGP Tournament Update : Singapore Showstoppers blew past CCC, Whampoa survived Compassvale United 4th quarter surge, and Sing Ballers eliminated Team Sleeps.

The supposed tight match just became an one-sided win. Singapore Showstoppers emptied their bench on 4th quarter after a 29pt lead over CCC, and the CCC made no effort to catch up, resulted on 94-120 defeat from Showstoppers. Veteran Émilien Montiel scored team high 27pts for Showstoppers, shot a perfect 5/5 beyond the arc. Smartman Pedro Pineda fill the stat sheets with 20pts 4ast 12reb 5blk. Noel Lima has 12pts and 9reb, sat mostly at 4th when the game has already decided. U21 Chan Teck Yao led CCC with Tournament career high 37pts.

At Compassvale Indoor Stadium, Whampoa Allstars looks safe after leading 17pts at start of 4th, and continues to hold the lead by 10 until the last 2 minutes, when Lin Bao Xiang inside basket brought cut the deficit to 8, and after a Whampoa miss, Shaun Russell-Lee hit two 3point dagger, sandwiched by a Giovanni Dushku steal, and suddenly Whampoa lead is 99-98 after Fung Chang Ze Free Throw with 14 sec left. Ng Chao Huat made 1 of 2 to bring it 100-98. And Compassvale has a chance to win it, but Giovanni Dushku missed the 3pointer off outstretched hand of Ng Chao Huat, and Omri Arnon made a foul shot as time expired, ended with 101-98. Konrad Krassowski led Whampoa with 31 pts, Omri Arnon 23pts 5ast 8rebs. Compassvale were led by Shaun Russell-Lee with 26pts, and Lin Bao Xiang with 19pts and 14rebs.

Perhaps it's good to rest the key players during regular season games, in order to fight all out in tournament. Singapore Ballers knew it, especially against more fresher Div II team. Patrice Caumont, fresh off 2 games rests, exploded for 15-20 FG, 35pts 18rebs 5asts to bring the Sing Ballers dispatch Team Sleeps 106-99. The game was tight, with no lead more than 6, before Singapore Ballers put it away on the final minutes. Team Sleeps can't find the rims, and Sing Ballers escaped with the W. Second year Mohd Nizam bin Khalil scored 16pts, and ex U21 Soh Qiang Leong scored 15pts and 14rebs. Borut Kreslin lead Team Sleeps with 31pts, and followed by Erik Vereckei with 22pts. Liew Ze Yeng, member of Singapore NT, scored 20pts but fouled out in the middle of 4th quarter.

Key Matches Next week :
