I had a great run wih Bergman in his prime. At the age of 22 i got 6 pops in JR from med to prolific in 8 weeks. His OD, JS & Passing were all trem/sens and his driving and handling were prolific from memory.

Hopefully that will be Barton next season. I am hoping he can hit double prodigious next season and then he should be a very effective PG for division II but it will depend partially about what league I am in and who my third trainee is.

if you training 1 skill all season, approximately how many weeks per pop?

I think if you swap every 2 weeks = 1 pop on the skills you train until 22 years old or so b4 it takes 2.5-3 weeks per pop in your primaries skills.

I've never trained one skill all season. I think i did an 8 week block of OD on Bergman early days as he and another trainee needed it and they got 4 pops each. Usually the most i do is 2 pops worth of the one training in any block so that can be 4-6 weeks depending on what i am doing and weather the focus of that training is an older or younger trainee.

I usually just do the weakest skills after taking account of my 3 trainees and then bring each skills up to speed.

once they are near balance, minor deviation due to uneven starting skills, I just do the 2-3 week pop per skill, rotate, rinse and repeat.

Hey there, Targess and welcome to BB. Firstly, all of the guys who have commented in this thread know what they're talking about and have a wealth of experience so listen carefully to all that is said. Secondly, I was in your position this time last season when I acquired a 6'0" MVP potential SG (Johnny Dogan). I spent the entire season training pressure as Yoda suggested (by the way, he's my mentor and very knowledgable). I watched this fairly ineffective SG (Dogan) go from not hitting a shot and being unable to defend Stevie Wonder on a good day, to defensively stopping $20k guards. How? I hammered his OD (Pressure) until he (and my other trainee, Rodriguez) were at Sensational OD. Now, with the elastic effect kicking in I expect Dogan (who was popping every two weeks like clockwork) to start to help out the team offensively as I have switched training to JR to capitalise on the elastic effect. Lastly, as Yoda suggested, I play Dogan and Rodriguez for the required 48 minutes in position and then have them back-up in the second game. If things go pear-shaped, you can always utilise the Scrimmages to ensure training is maintained.

If you have any questions about anything regarding their training ask the guys using this thread. I'm always happy to answer any questions through BB as well. Good luck.

PS. You suck! LOL That starting group of rookies is awesome for a new team. Get your training program set up now for the next few seasons, get that level 4/5 trainer (I have a Level 5) and start building your team around your future stars.

Thanks for the imput and advice Matt. First up the trainer thing is getting very frustrating. Can't seem to be able to get a lvl4 trainer for under 30k a week salary and under 200k initial bid. I do have the 200k but it will send me kind in danger levels finance wise. I've been taking steps to increase my base income and it's getting better slowly. My lvl3 trainer atm is very well priced and the fitness perk but believe me I'd give my right arm for a decent lvl4 trainer. As for the training... I really would like to focus just on those 2 SG's but the rest of my team needs some improvement. Made a comprimise, always training my SG's but occasionally doing 2 positional training. I know it's not effective as single positional training but once I'm confident of winning the league(I think I'll know after tonights match), I'll focus just the single training on the 2 SG's. Cheers.

I just had a look at that top-of-the-table clash. Well done: you got the tactics right. I would also hazard to guess that your starters have reasonable handling as the opposition tried a FCP on you and they commtted more TOs! As for training, I will be blunt here: Forget the rest of your team! You can't improve them unless you sell and update them. FOCUS ON THOSE AWESOME ROOKIES! Single-position training only. If you don't do it now while they're young, you might as well sell them now as they will never be what they are capable of. The rookies you have, Targess, are the envy of any Aussie manager (in fact, any manager) and really will make you rise through the BB ranks more quickly if you train them properly now!

Good luck, you're looking okay in your league but I would say that you are NOT guaranteed of winning the championship.

Level 4 is an advanced trainer. Sounds like you are looking at superior trainers which are level 5.
