Can I be the first to say this idea is ridiculous? Italy is the current world champions. Im kind of embarassed that this even got posted, winning the cup isnt just a flash in the pan win, its winning the tournamant same as the playoffs in any league.
To make another title that just so happens to coincide with us beating them in an early and inconsequential game brings to question how insecure you as our representative can be. If you want to have trash talking rights, win the cup, thats the tourney, thats the rules. Till then, don't compound the embarassment of our early exit last season with trash talking that may come back to bite us later on.
My wording is harsh but the message is just play the game the way the rules dictate.

I notice that there's no complaint about the sister thread to this involving club teams - why is that?
And like gerrtv posted, it seems like it happens in real life too, and we don't have a big controversy over that.
