Do u guys stand to make a huge profit while staying a float in 4-5 seeds? I know competing for a championship in D2 is basically braking even financially on a weekly basis at best, the price of winning is promotion to DI, the promotion $$$ alone is worth the cost of breaking even for a season. Then the attendance boost put u somewhere around 300k per week profit For a season.

I think it depends on how much payroll you carry to stay in the 4th/5th seed range. Some will profit more than others doing that...Don't forget though...when you drop down your attendance takes a HUGE, HUGE hit...First, you simply can't sell as many seats in D2 as D1, and then just like the promotion bonus you speak of, it works in reverse too...So a lot of the $1 million you receive promoting back up, you lost in attendance revenue by dropping down. Ultra Conservative would be a drop of $100K per game...that's $1.1 mil less than you'd make by staying up....But realistically, you are going to drop more than $200K a game dropping down to D2...So dropping down to pop back up will always be a net loss...The only way tanking is productive, is to do a total tank, maximizing every dollar you can by staying under the Players Salary Floor, training young players who will have value to sell, or will cost you significantly less as the season progresses than their actual worth because of training pops.

Excellent point all, Jase! There seems to be limits on attendance revenues for each division

I think another excellent point Jason makes is that the gap between teams(competitively speaking) and young/old players already exists because of previous mistakes by the BBs with economy and Utopia changes. This gap will lessen and resolve itself eventually, but it will exist until the next generation of players comes through which is a long time in BB and real life.

I'm all for increasing the training speed for those that prefer to train and slowing the reduction of lost skills on the older players for those that want to compete. Generates more interest for newcomers and the existing user base. Regarding training, one real life year devoted to training a specific player should result in a minimum of 6 BB seasons worth of progress (entirely too slow in the current day). I've trained a few draft picks from 18 onwards. I was able to finally reach my training goals by the time they hit 28. You basically have 2 measly seasons to enjoy the fruits of your labor and then they start losing value and soon after skill points.

Sadly, very true and well said.

So true. In some cases you have to train NT players a few seasons longer.

On the bright side, those 2 seasons in BB equate to 6 months of enjoyment in real life!

I tried to connect two training cycles so that the two could have two seasons of overlap. but never get to the point where I can max out eveyone to compete at DI level. Honestly I don't mind if I can just build a dynasty in dII instead of promoted to dI, just give me a huge championship bonus equilvalent of the promotion bonus and boosted attendance I would be happy. This is such a waste of time up here, I am just collecting pay check for a season.

Unless somehow the D2 team slips through and miraculously wins the final in a game that would have gone the other way 99/100 times and you feel like a failure for the rest of your BB career.

But yeah probably what you said.
