Just posted a new article on the blog. Here it is:

B3's Top 32: A Closer Look

Two games have now been played in Season 19’s highly anticipated B3 tournament, and things are starting off as exciting as ever. Spartan 300 currently leads the pack, with Napálsko very close behind. Although these teams are virtually tied for first (both starting off 2-0) do they really deserve their positions right now when 45 other teams have also won their first two games? According to these teams point differential they do, but PD really does not give us give us a good indication on who leads the pack. At a quick glance high PD looks good, but they could have played two teams from the Bahamas for all we know!

So that’s why I decided to come up with a simple RPI (ratings percentage index) formula that will hopefully give us a better indication on who the best teams are. The formula takes into account a team’s world ranking during each individual game, their opponents world ranking during the same game, PD, and wins/losses (of course the teams I will be ranking today are all 2-0). So who really deserves that #1 spot? Let’s take a look!

Alright, the SB article has been done for some time now, but has just been posted. Here it is:

The Truth About Shotblocking

Shotblocking: a skill that has been debated again and again throughout BB history. Despite the BB's constantly telling us that it is useful and should be trained, many have decided not to believe them, thinking they must "see it to believe it." In fact, BB-Charles even went out of his way to train SB, only to go bankrupt before he really proved anything. So what is the real deal about the skill of shotblocking? Is it useful, or necessary even? Could this be a skill that people have overlooked for seasons and seasons? I went to the streets to find out:
