I would have to say the '04 SC team was the best I've seen in recent memory -- and this is coming from a Bruin. I'm not even sure if this LSU team is the best team in the country. Better than 'bama? Better than OSU?

I think he was naming the good pros. Some of the guys he named weren't even starters that year. Dorsey wasn't a good pro.

As for the '05 Longhorns and the '10 Crimson Tide, I would say LSU is better than both defensively and as good as Bama's offense. Texas had a better offense, but I don't feel like they are better overall.

Lol, you mean the underdog that got lucky against miami? Absolutely not.

You don't see me naming the '00 sooners just because im a sooner fan. However the '00 sooners had a NASTY defense. They gave up 0 points in the national championship game. Who else can boast that? The only points for FSU was when OU gave them a safety...

2001 Miami is definitely a good one. I don't think 2005 Texas is better than this years LSU though.

I'm assuming you responded to the wrong person, but either way I agree with you...although LSU's defense would give 2001 Miami fits I think. Miami tried to repeat against OSU's defense the following year with a team practically as good, but couldn't.

I might be biased because I think Tommie Frazier is still running, but the '95 Nebraska team that won the Fiesta Bowl would put a serious hurting on LSU. I do think LSU's the best team in college football this year, just ahead of 'bama, but they're not an all-time great team.

That game must have been tough for you to watch, hrudey. It would've been fun to see what Frazier could've done in the pros if it weren't for those blood clots. I think the 2001 version of Thug U. has a slight edge on the '95 Huskers, if only because of the massive amount of talent they had on both sides of the ball. 17 future first round draft picks on one team is stinking ridiculous. LSU's current team is a distant third at best to both of these teams. You need better quarterbacks than Jefferson and Lee to be considered an all-time great team, in my opinion.

Frazier was not going to be a good pro QB, but I think he would have been an excellent receiver. As for the Thugs being better than LSU, it's not like Ken Dorsey was a future 1st round pick, eh? Maybe better than the other two, but Jefferson brings an extra dimension. 17 future first round picks....but they all weren't playing that year. Still loaded, but overrated in my opinion as like i said, basically the same team lost to OSU the next season.

I do think 95 Nebraska is better, but that wasn't the BCS era yet, was it?

Neither was Jason White, but anyone with half a brain would take either of those two over Jefferson. Great college QBs.

The Bowl Alliance was a mini version of the BCS, I think we can include the '95 Huskers for the purpose of this debate.

I came into this thread hoping for some Jamarcus Russell chat but I was disappointed.
