Maybe each skill should decrease at a different pace. Stamina, handling, driving and OD should be the quickest to decline and IS, JS, JR and passing the slowest.

that's bad salary management then. let's say a PG has these skills: 12/10/13/13/15/12-/6/8/4/3-/6/10 with superstar potential

let's say his salary is....42k. so now let's see if we do what your thinking then this owner would be pissed cause his DR is dropping like a rock. I say having a skill decrease slower. Like the skills everyone needs, Like JS, IS, REB, and Jr, then OD stamina, handling, and OD drop slower, but not by much. So I don't like it, just me man, don't like those skills dropping, it's like killing your PG......and SG too....while keeping Bigs and LI the superior again. so then what? all 45k teams in BB go to LI/M2M and then let's see which big can do it! but really?

99.9% of people know there is a problem but a couple of deniers & those in charge can say "opinion is divided we will wait & see"

great 2 see u 2 have joined up & now we have enough for the new olympic event the 1 minute moronathon

You are a crybaby. Period.

WoW. I'm so glad you know what the 99.9% know and want. You must be the smartest person alive, and the richest, since you know EVERYTHING.

Everyone else has 33 yo, skill decline not a problem. You do, and its an epidemic that must stop and corrected. Even though nothing has changed in the sim, it just hit your star player.

Thats not a problem. That is bad managing. Period.

It's just to get it more realistic. Skills based on quickness are the first to drop where those only based on technique do not drop.

do u even know what the point of a suggestion forum is?

u identify a possible issue

u normally try to provide some evidence, a stat, a quote, an anecdote, expert opinion, reason & logic etc

then u suggest a solution

i didnt know that the final part was 4 random trolls 2 jump in & add nothing 2 the debate except abuse

It's possible to base your team off older players if you anticipate skill drops. You will end up paying higher salaries for lower skills but that's the 'penalty'. Drops are inevitable and used to really frustrate me until I learned to think of them as a result an inverted form of training. Here's some tips from a seasoned "dust monger" on minimizing them. Note: Currently, I don't train young players.

1) Get a trainer with career extension
2) Train FT/ST to keep their DMIs up and also help to minimize pops
3) Get your players their mins. every week.

Those few simple tips will minimize drops and keep you looking like the Boston Celtics. Dusty but dangerous. :)

I think one guy in Kerplekistan changed his mind, so you really should now say 99.895%, as I know how laboriously you collected the data for that 99.9% assertion.

Actually, talking serious and stuff, there is a good deal of literature out there analyzing how player performance changes with age. This is perhaps best known for baseball, where most often players continue at their average performance until they suddenly drop off significantly. This is perhaps what bigfishy experienced with his player. Of course it's possible that fishy's player started with low sublevels, and as such, his actual performance might not have declined as fast as all the red arrows accumulated.

Of course, basketball player performance isn't the same thing, though many studies have demonstrated sudden, significant drops in player ability during aging. There's also a random aspect to it as well. Some players maintain their ability longer than others. But I'd hazard a guess that over a wider base of BB player observations, is pretty well modeled in the current aging process.
