whoa, did i get lucky: not only was Soto hurt six minutes or so into the game, but his sub was $2800 19-year old. and despite this, TKI very nearly won the game.

my dummies couldn't exploit this guy -- i thought that was the whole point of a Patient offense --

it is becoming clear just exactly what TnT lost when Stankovic went down late last season -- that dude is putting up phenomenal numbers at SF. he may very well be the best player in the league.

Don't worry, I actually started the two scrubs, I wasn't winning anyway. Soto's replacement was Acker, so no real major affect on the game. Although you also injured Walter later in the game - trying to take out the national team 1 guy at a time? Team still bitter from Larry Whitt's snub in the NT scrimmage on Monday?

Also, let's not get ahead of ourselves. The best player in the NBBA is Bowens on BM and the second best player is Simmons on UK. Everyone else can fight for 3rd.

Nice game TnT. I thought I was going to find a way to come back but obviously my roster, as currently constructed, isn't really able to compete with you guys. Hopefully I'll be able to find ways to win games like this by the time the season's done.

You will. With player like Arthur Glass, your team will only get better as the season goes on. Can't say the same for my aging team though. The only reason I went TIE because I thought you would have gone TIE as well. I guessed wrong with the game vs TKI as well.

1st time here I can't resist the 400k net income u guys get here
Is it better just to tank it and get a top pick and come back with better roster and finances?
It burns about 1 mil in div II to get here but it's a washout with the promotion bonus
I don't see myself competing against a 900k roster anytime soon

Everyone has a different view on this and I understand everyone's situation is different as well. But I'm personally not a fan of tank & rebuild strategy ... unless you already achieved what you can do in the NBBA and it's just time to try something new (like Bullish's case).

Also you shouldn't worry too much about $900K roster because not many of us here can sustain that long term. I would recommend try to hang around as long possible and in the meanwhile build/improve up your team & wait for your opportunity to capture the CUP or league title.

i second TnT: it is better to be here than try to get back here.

i would not say for a second the best 16 teams in the US are in the NBBA -- and there some really good teams who are fighting tooth and nail amongst each other to get here. really good managers, those with a sparkling record of long success up here, teams like the Bruins, Silverbacks, and Burlington, once they dropped down, have stayed down (although i think it is at least partly their choice). i know some teams / managers who have for one reason or another had to move down -- Kurgans, Yuck, the River Dogs, Rocket Science -- and they know how to assemble a team and may stand in your way to a rapid return to the NBBA. and you defeated perhaps the best non-NBBA team, the Clogs, to get here. try doing that again! i would not set that as a task for myself.

if you have a plan, then you are right, you can pile up a pretty good stash here, and that can give your future team a solid foundation -- but remember young-ish impact players at this level run $2 million plus, and training players to that level take four, five or more seasons.

Well the core that got me here
Was mostly over 30 year of age
So I sold those 2 at reasonable prices while I still can
I tried to stay and compete on div Ii for the reasons u listed above but
Never was able to crack it until I dropped down to div III and came back
For some reason
I feel like the promotional bonus and attendance
Is just too much to pass up
This is the only chance to field a team at min salary and achieve Max attendance
Had I kept the same roster and bought some new players to stay in the league
That woulda have been a 5-6 million difference
And I won't have enough to win it all

I already did the drop and promote thing from NBBA Lite (II.4 a few seasons ago) and it took a bit just to get back to II so I can only imagine how long it would take to get back here. If I was low on cash it would be different but I had about 3.5 mil before my purchase today and am still making a lot of weekly profit so I have some options.

I think my ceiling this year is a #4 seed (if I'm lucky) and first round fodder for Hassan or one of you other guys but if I can stick and have that extra year of training for Glass/Rojas and promotion income I might be able to do some damage in a couple seasons.

I concur w/ the others in that staying in the NBBA is better than tanking, getting draft picks & trying to re-promote. It took me many seasons to promote to Div II.4, I don't intend to go back. Back then, it felt like I would never escape. Now, I fear I might be stuck there for eternity ...

On a separate note, someone said something a about $12,000,000 & patience. Who's got 12,000,000 ??
