Many people train because it’s arguably the most rewarding part of the game, watching a player improve in front of your eyes. It’s fun.

But on top of that it’s the easiest way to make more money as well. Buy a young trainee, often undervalued, for dirt cheap, train them for half a season or a couple of seasons and then sell them to people like yourself for huge profit.

Yeah I did that a couple times with my old team. For two seasons I would buy a couple recent draft picks for 1k and then sell them 3/4 into the season for 200k

It's also a nice way to get players that have specific skillsets if you want to do something unusual. Just for example, if you're interested in guys with 17+ JR and 15+ SB, you'll be waiting a long, long time to see any pop up on the TL.
