Forgive me for trying to put a little humour into the forum.

I have two teams both starting the season away. Both finish with two home games. I realise you're emphasising the financial aspect of the scheduling, and I take your point. However, I'm happy with my schedule, I want to finish with home games, not start with them.

Most certainly I don't want the season to start on a Tuesday, and really don't see how it could.

Those are not guaranteed. I have to win those games to get that money. 11 home games per season is guaranteed income. And you also have income in the first week (tv contract + merchandise).

You play a league game, you pay salaries.

Difficult to do, because I think you pay the salaries in advance. So you'd have to set your lineups for the upcoming week before Monday's update.
Still an interesting thought. You could open a thread in the suggestions forums and see what people think, although I don't think it's possible/necessary. Or you could lose your temper and call me a punk ;)

Or change the day of the update. If we pay salaries Thursday or Friday everybody will have one game at home the first week. But maybe this solution will cause other problems later in the season.

Hello all,

I would like some advice, as I’m experiencing several problems

1. Huge salary increase. I like to build my team via draft and training. I was training c/pf. My 3 best players salaries just shot up to 100k, 88k and 60k. The guy who is 88k is a homegrown 22 year old with tsp of 83. My friend who I play with has got a 23 year old homegrown point guard with tsp of 107 and his salary stayed low at 38k. It’s probably my fault for not knowing how salaries work, but could someone explain it to me

2. Huge drop in fans. Last season i had 7k-9k of fans attending home games. First game of this season it was only. 4k, which with salaries from point one means bankruptcy within 3 weeks. I looked at other teams who were just relegated from tier 2 and none of them seemed to have as big of a drop. Was it because I played against a bot in my first game of the season? I will lower my ticket prices for the next game to see if there is an improvement.

3. The players I’m forced to sell, all say that ‘very few players like this have been sold recently’. Could someone tell me how much would you ask for a 22 year old centre with. IS 15, ID 17, R 14, SB 14 with MVP potential

To be honest I’m getting close to giving up. Having to sell my best players after I spent so much time training them is quite sad. The game loses all enjoyment when you suddenly go from making profit to -170k a week

Hi.
Buzzermanager has an inaccurate salary calculator.

Lower your ticket prices. You relegated. Folks aint happy with the Penguins.

I found a few 22-23 year olds with $100k+ salaries selling for anywhere from $720k-$2.2m.

1. If you use BuzzerManager then it will tell you the expected salary of your player the following season, so if you're training players it can avoid any salary shocks at the end of the season.

It depends on your player's listed position as to how much a skill affects their salary. BuzzerManager has a salary calculator you can play around with, for example you can take one of your current players and add 4 levels of rebounding to see what that does to his salary. There is this table so you can see the effect at a glance: (160760.16).

Bigs tend to have much bigger salaries than guards/wings.

2. I think you will see better attendances against human teams, and if you lower ticket prices as you plan then that should help.

3. The Transfer Price Estimator is not always a useful tool, even when it does provide a value. I'd suggest going to the transfer list, put in the criteria for players similar to your own, and see what others are selling for.

4. If you reduce salary you should be ok. You don't necessarily have to sell your homegrown player Atkinson if you'd like to keep him, he'll provide a merchandise boost being homegrown and as he's probably reached his potential cap he won't train much further (and thus won't increase in salary). You could sell some other high salary players, then buy some cheap young outside players to train and switch training to something suitable for them.

I'm sorry but it doesn't make sense.

no matter how you put it, you still get 11 weeks of attendance. if you have your home game in the first week or not, it's the same for everyone. Seasons are 12 weeks, you get 11 games at home + revenue in all those weeks.

Example calculation:
12 weeks
Salaries players: 200k
Salaries staff: 50k
Scouting / infrastrcture: 50k

Attendance: 200k
Tv contract: 100k
Merchandise: 50k

expendidatures: 12 * 300k = 3.6m
revenue: 11*200k + 12*150k = 2.2m + 1.8m = 4m
Total: +0.4m

Per week calculation for your season (cash reserves lets say 0 before season start)
Week 1: 150k - 300k = -150k => cash reserves: -150k
Week 2: 350k - 300k = 50k => cash reserves: -100k
Week 3: 350k - 300k = 50k => cash reserves: -50k
Week 4: 350k - 300k = 50k => cash reserves: 0
Week 5: 350k - 300k = 50k => cash reserves: 50k
Week 6: 350k - 300k = 50k => cash reserves: 100k
Week 7: 350k - 300k = 50k => cash reserves: 150k
Week 8: 150k - 300k = -150k => cash reserves: 0
week 9: 550k - 300k = 250k => cash reserves: 250k
Week 10: 350k - 300k = 50k => cash reserves: 300k
Week 11: 350k - 300k = 50k => cash reserves: 350k
Week 12: 350k - 300k = 50k => cash reserves: 400k

So you see, you will still get same amount regardless if you have home game in first week or not.

Now, if we all won't pay salaries in the first week, it will still make no difference in regards to other players. It will just mean that EVERYONE will get a bigger cash reserve at the end.
