Not a big deal!! Are you joking? Let's say a manager bought a Level 5 trainer with a 30K weekly salary for 500K and at the time there were only 2 or 3 at that price point. How many managers are going to be fighting and bidding for that trainer. And then you flood the market a couple days later and that same trainer goes for 200K because unlike before there are more available. You need to go back and take Economics 101. Supply and Demand.

RL analogy. 8 people are at the dealership to buy a BMW. The dealership only has 5 cars left. Do you think any of them will get a discount? NO. Not even the extended warranty for a special price.
8 people are at the dealship to buy a BMW. The dealership has 20 cars they need to sell. All 8 are going to get special deals.

Not a big deal to the people who are Staff shopping after your secret staff dump to flood the market. A VERY BIG DEAL to those who bought staff before. So when did this take place?

Has anyone actually noticed a big difference in the market? I've taken a look a few times and I don't see a big drop in prices. I'm guessing using your analogy above, the dealership had 5 cars left and added one or two.

What level were you looking at?
I just saw a level 6 (exceptional) with a 38K a week salary go for less than 200K. When I bought my level 6 last season, those guys were going for 500K. And a level 6 with a 68K weekly salary not sale.
I am wondering what trainer level they put more out there. There are a lot of level 6 trainers on the market.

People have been complaining that player salaries have become too expensive (youth trainers, accelerated training etc) so they need more money. Secretly trainer prices have been artificially reduced which will lead to people being able to afford better trainers, leading to even easier training and more unaffordable players, so they'll still be complaining about needing more money.

I had a bid on a lvl 6 trainer with less than 30k salary. Forgot to be online at the end of the bid, but he still cost 700k. Yes, that might be less than about 1-1.2 Mio, but that is still a lot of money. I don't think they're flooding the market, so it's just a small change imho. You still have to change your trainer from time to time. People will adjust and I won't mind if I can afford a lvl 5 trainer without paying 500-800k ..

Du hast nicht genug Geld, um dieses Gebot abzugeben!

The changes we know about (reduced coach cost, increased weekly merch, increased lvl 2-3 merch store) are all things that have been discussed previously, and I believe most users would be in favour of these changes.

However if you bought a level 6 coach for $1m+ and then a few weeks later everyone else gets one for $700k because the game was suddenly altered, you might feel hard done by. Especially when the changes are secret and a small group are the only ones with knowledge of it.

I don't buy the explanation given:

I'd say the main reason why we didn't say anything was that we wanted to truly see if the prices getting lower when the supply is higher than usual.

I don't think the BB coach market is particularly special that you'd need to test whether increased supply reduces price.

Announcing about it would manipulate the staff market and the prices might not even drop because we would have more people than usual, looking for a trainer, simply because we said we put more trainers.

Yes that is possible. You could announce the change, ignore the results for a few weeks (it will be easy to track how long the artifical demand lasts), then when things settle down you can see the new "normal" results. A better alternative would be to announce it and slowly increase the supply over a longer period of time. It also doesn't explain why the other changes needed to be secret.

As I said above, I think these changes will be welcomed by the community. And my understanding is BB was stagnant for a long time so it's good to have progress being made. But in my opinion there should be more transparency. The exhaustion changes and league consolidation were good examples of that - they were introduced over a period of time (with more detail becoming available as appropriate) and everyone had the opportunity to be aware it was coming.
