I've also heard a BB say that it seems unbalanced that the SF position is the only position without a single position training slot available to it.

I am curious who said that -- mostly because it isn't true.

I was gonna say - am I missing a way to train my PF's seperately?

My bad, they said the first half and I added the (incorrect) second half. PFs also need a one position training, but most people don't complain because centers and PFs can mostly interchangeable.

Which is funny, because a C with 2 respectable skills in the right spots is as effective at PF as a SG with 2 respectable skills in the rights spots is at SF.

I think the training aspect is challenging to a fault, and the SF GE aspect is a failure in representing the game of basketball.

i agree with you.

if you want to train a SF in a single-position, you must put yout SF in another role.

sf in the GE - you can play a center at SF against an actual SF, with roughly comparable total skills, and be very successful. It's unrealistic.

I don't think that there are enough 'pure' SF's made already to see if a C would be successful against one of them.

From what I have seem in games an outside based SF will dominate an inside based SF in the outside game, and vice versa. The only thing I have found is that an inside based SF will dominate the boards, and rightly so.

Unless of course you are talking about a players 'position' as given from their overview page, which I think is very misleading with the player skillset that it gives to SF's

So with 100 points worth of skills (1=atroc, 10=prom etc) how would you design a perfect SF (excl.stamina/ft).....

couldnt really design a perfect SF with 100 points, but will give it a go:

JS - 14
JR - 4
OD - 12
HA - 7
DV - 11
PA - 7
IS - 11
ID - 12
R - 14
SB - 8

this proposed player would be far from perfect, but would be able to defend most inside/outside based players, go even or win the boards, and score on his opponents weaker side. he would probably turn the ball over against an extremely strong outside based SF based on the handling & passing skills.

No-one I have on my roster is even shaping up along these lines!!

Now a Sensational ID/OD player would be very neat!

well, I was trying to design an even SF who could handle playing against either focus. no reason you couldnt have 2 options for SF, one inside & one outside, then play them according to opponent. having just one SF may save on wages though

definately.

Havent you read... in Season 7 you can choose how much you wish to pay your players so the global economy gets a much needed cash injection into the game...

Go and treat yourself to a shiny new trainee to shape into your desired SF.... and then just dont pay him!!
