I know that very well... I don`t know any links and so on but just take a look to this
(http://www.euroleague.net/main/standings)

Why you think they count total points differential???

I`m basketball fan all my life as well as 80% other Lithuania population so I just know how it`s counting.

i have also a basketball fan all my life, so this seems not to be a good argument. in those goups always the better ranke team vwon the head to head comparison (as the won the point differential)

show me a link of a group where they head to head comparison is not working.

btw take a look in group C, at the 13 game day. U will find Rom and fenerbahce havin the same record and the team with the worse point differential ahead of the other team.

or another example from group C at the final results of the group fenerbahce is even ahead of two team wih the some record but better point differential...

There was an esplanation given quite awhile ago by the BBs about why it's PD and not head-to-head.

If I come across it I'll post it.

I agree that head to head comparison should be implemented into the game... But how I said only if there are two team with same records, if there are more then two that means total point differential is involved for decision which of those teams are upper... Except if one of those teams has won all matches against teams those have same records (that team would go forward doesn`t matter of total points differential, and other teams would be decided by total points differential).

Head to head is working just with two teams.

Just take a look to Top 16 game 5... 3groups have that situation...

head to head is always working. take a look in group C of the eurolegue (3 teams involved), or take a look at the olympics (in the last olympics there have been also 3 teams involved) or whereever, it is always working believe me.

In Europe (I know about euroleague and Greece for sure) The system is very simple:
If 2 or 3 teams have the same record we look at the games they played between them (and don;t take into account the results they had with other teams).

If they still are tied (ex: in a 3 teams comparison if they all won by 10 points between each other) then and only then do we look at the total point difference...

But BB is not reality, whatever system is fine by me as long as we know it from the begining of the season...

What about the final ? If both teams have the same Win-loss record, I don't think it should be taken the result of the only game between them because one played at home and the other away. So it would not be fair.

thats a good point. however at the moment it is not fairer.

first this is only the case if both teams have the same record. if so, point differential doesnt really make it fairer. usually one conference is better then the other. Why punish the team who managed to have the same record playing more often against better teams, but only wining with an average of 10 points instead of 20 points.

btw. if we use point differential, blow out rule should have never been applied.
