SOME of them have much better approaches to certain aspects of the game and some novel and interesting ideas here and there...but nobody has put together a remotely quality basketball manager IMO.

I highly agree with this. Other basketball managers I've tried have had interesting features but overall fall short of BB. Apart from BB, the only I've liked are Basketball Manager and Basketball GM. Basketball GM is actually excellent and even has an adjustable live game engine. The game is single player, but if a multiplayer version were released, it would easily be one of the top manager games out there.

Basketball Manager definitely has its flaws, but it has very nice graphics and a much faster pace than BB (it has a league game every day) which makes it quite fun. I always thought that BB could benefit from a faster pace. With only 2 League games a week the game probably gets boring to many potential new users.

More users in the game?

If you want the users to do the "dirty" work, reward them handsomely. The current system does not value the effort to promote the game. I don't need new teams, as they are cannonfodder anyways - if the old ones remained I'd be much happier...

Just looked up... It's only 4 weeks max you get... Oh lawd....

So I have to convince 40 of my friends to play this game, to get a month of supporter? A 3-month package costs $12 - so according to my logic every referred user is worth 10 cents to the BBs.

Well if you dont want new users to the game i dont know what to say. How are we ever going to get more users if we dont get new users?
The referral system is a side point imo as i rather have new users then some supporter prolonged. More users = more fun.

Even if I doubled or tripled Austrias userbase in the next couple weeks, the country would still suck for beginners, new users would hate to play the game - and quit very soon, like they do and did for the last years. Getting destroyed by old teams is no fun. Maybe in 2020 some of you will understand that...

In addition I'd have to do a tremendous amount of work to get a value of $4 in return. If there was some REAL incentive to put in some work, the kids/students would probably promote the game a lot more. Like an additional cup for the top 100 promoters, special stuff, whatnot...

At the end of the day it should not be the customers duty to promote a game for free. There are many ways to get exposure... Instagram, Twitter, Facebook... All those options are ignored by the BBs.

Basketball GM is excellent, if it wasnt for the very slow simulation after a couple seasons... I think a multiplayer version exists...

others will see it differently.

Really? If thats so, the results are not visible. Please start a poll on that topic, or show us some numbers (how many referrals and so on).

Also: Really cheap and effective ways to promote are abandoned - insert tumbleweed *.gif if you want... If maintained properly those channels would have thousands of followers by now.
